YES.

I'm going completely insane.

I need to get out of my fucking house!

It is for somewhat good reason. Southern states don't account for snow removal/buildup prevention in their city and town budgets, therefore while less than an inch of snow is no problem for northern areas with large snow budgets, it can wreck havok in areas with no means to get rid of the snow.

If we get snow in the UK, the whole country goes to a standstill, even if its like 1 inch.

Quite sad really, we never learn.

Governments do such a wonderful job of taking care of everything, don't they? ;)

And theatreboi, those are great pictures! Beautiful! Thanks!

No snow in FL, of course...

But, I just watched this report on the news...

Somewhere in PA, I think... The buses got called out of service in the middle of the afternoon because of the weather. So, there's a town full of people who took the bus in from the suburbs that are stranded and have no way to get back home !

You'd think there would be a better way to plan ahead for such things.

All you snow hater weenies close your eyes why are you are even looking at this thread?

Pics taken on a walk to nearby borough this evening: (19 F / 7C)

Trains were running 30 minutes late, but they run every half hour so nobody really noticed.

north of NYC it's just starting now -- i'm hoping we don't get the 15-20 inches they're talking about -

and for the love of God - why can't Jim Cantore do those reports nude !!!

yep... im not sure how much we have gotten so far in delaware, but i had to work this morning, and had to drive home at 5. it took me an hour and one incident of getting stuck to get me home. now im sitting and watching it fall from outside my window though.

it pretty much stopped actually snowing here now. I think we petered off at around 20 inches, maybe a little more.

alfaPA, that picture of the train station is absolutely beautiful!

More pictures please - they're Beautiful!! Winter Wonderlands!! :D

The snow storm just barely missed me. In fact it did snow for about an hour yesterday but no accumulation here. Now if I were to drive an hour west of where I live I'd see snow on the ground. Love snow but actually am glad we missed this one. Have too much to do before Christmas to be bothered with all the snow.

alfaPA your pictures are beautiful. The train station resembled a Christmas card

No snow today here in Calgary. It was a beautiful, clear day with temps just above freezing. We got dumped on two weeks ago. It's Christmas and there is supposed to be snow

Yup, fellow NJ-er here. I think we got about six inches of snow in central/north NJ tonight. I hear we're supposed to get another inch or two on Monday... Blah...

we got about 10 inches last nite

no complaints

beautiful

my bf is shovelling right now - which is a switch for him cuz he's a bit of a lazy one normally ;)

so im doing ok :)

Mike, I'm just south of Pennsylvania right now, and most of the state got quite a bit of snow. I imagine he's in the Filthydelphia area, which got over a foot. The wedding may very well be postponed.

No weather-related thread is complete with a gratuitous pic of CNN's hunky weather guy, Rob Marciano....
