Anybody else remember the movies with Ray Harryhausen's mythological creatures as a child?

Yes. I even had my ex take a picture of me in front of the skeleton model of the one-eyed monster from Sindbad and the Eye of the Tiger in Berlin.

I still fucks with Clash of the Titans. And not that Liam Neeson bullshit.

Yes, those were on TV when I was a kid. The battling skeletons scared me.

It wasn't just the films either, it was the soundtracks too, especially of these two....

They don't do memorable musical scores like this anymore.

Yes they just had Clash of the Titans a few days ago on one of the channels here.

I looked him up to see when he passed away, surprised he's still alive though hehe.

I remember leaving the theater as a little boy after The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.

"That movie was so great," I told my dad. "But why was it only ten minutes long?"

Clash of the Titans

I grew up being enthralled by Harryhausen movies. It truly was movie magic. Unfortunately for Clash of the Titans, neither a half-naked Harry Hamlin nor the exquisite talents of Ray Harryhausen could save this one. When the movie is just bad, nothing can fix it.

UPDATE:

I looked him up to see when he passed away, surprised he's still alive though hehe.

Alas, no longer....

Ray Harryhausen, visual effects master, dies aged 92

Visual effects master Ray Harryhausen, whose stop-motion wizardry graced such films as Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans, has died aged 92.

The American animator made his models by hand and painstakingly shot them frame by frame to create some of the best-known battle sequences in cinema.

His death was confirmed to the BBC by a representative of the family.

The mere mortal has gone to join the Gods of Olympus now....
