Anybody here watch(ed) Queer as Folk?

I enjoyed watching that show went it first aired. I liked Brian and Justin's relationship. All the characters on the show were interesting. I wish they would make a movie version.I miss this show. There's nothing like it on TV.

I loved Robert Gant who played Ben.. He was my absolute favorite and had the perfect personality and looks.... like a dream man:)

I watched this as a marathon, and I really loved how it started. About Season 3 or 4 though. . .it got depressing. It had always been topical & vaguely relevant (to a certain upper-middle class, city-living demographic anyway) but man. It got harsh.

Also, I was sort of annoyed at the lesbians. There are so many more interesting things they could have done with them. Seriously.

I got the DVDs for UK version first (also one of the reasons I bought a certain model of DVD player that could be made region-free :) ) & have watched the whole thing a few times

I've gotten US version DVD sets as I found deals on eBay and have watched part of it.

I watched it for one season and didn't like it.
Too many stereotypes for me to enjoy it.

I watched QAF when I was fifteen and sixteen. Loved every episode and the guy with the glasses was my favorite. The series still comes on on LOGO, but just isn't as good as the HBO version.

Only managed to catch the pilot of US version. I feel very much connected with Justin.

I said it once, I'll say it again, I hated queer as folk. where the fuck were the black, asian, gays?

I just watched the UK version, and I got to say the American version was better.

Crappy show. Bad writing, lackluster acting. Paper thin plots. Shallow and unlikable characters. No diversity. Played on stereotypes.
Basically a bad soap that used shock value and exploited the fact that there were few gay shows on TV to forge its "iconic" status.

Years after the fact, it doesn't hold up against most other cable series like Oz, Sopranos, Soul Food, Dexter, Six Feet Under, Weeds, Californication, Big Love...hell, even True Blood is better.

I loved the US series but thought the British version was awful. I have no idea why everyone raves over it.

i watched it. it was good. wish it had more nudity though!

The one thing I loved about the UK version was Charlie Hunnam, I would have married that boy. The rimming scene is so much hotter in the UK version because of him. Despite the Brian character (Vince) being U-G-L-Y!!!!

:sex:

on gthe other hand Randy Harrison always seemed below average to me. It annoyed me that someone like him could get a guy like Brian.

If they could have hired Hannam for the role (again) I would have been 100% into the show.
PS OZ was the shit!:p

One of the most overrated drama series ever, with really hokey stereotypes instead of characters, but the totty starved American audience suspended judgement because it was "groundbreaking gay drama ' or something. I preferred Six Feet Under, which wasn't set in a ghetto like QAF.
