Anybody here watch(ed) Queer as Folk?

No. Queer as folk is one of the worst gay themed drama shows ever. I don't give a fuck what any of you say.

im watching the series again....you guys are harsh...

i dont see how they could make a gay-themed drama without being somewhat stereotypical at the time.

i would agree the characters are unlikeable. however the best acting came from the brunette lesbian Melanie Marcus played by Michell Clunie. there were a couple instances where she really had a scene but the directors or whoever seemed to be fine with a mediocre delivery. #-o

also, brian and justin seemed more like fuckbuddies than boyfriends, they certainly were not committed to one another. i think brian belonged with Michael much more, their scenes were more genuine. im not sure why that happened, probably because they were both playing 'roles' and acted it better or it was written that way.

qaf was kinda trapped between being a softcore porn and a drama, im sure the nude scenes made the audiences happy :D

I loved both the UK and USA series!
The usa one was not as realistic and i hated how the relationship between brian and that boy and micheal. God micheal annoyed me, but anyways, there not enough structure and the lesbians were boring as fuck in the usa but apart from that i loved it!
The uk one was nice, shame it was not longer but i think there was need for a few extra main characters

I loved it as well and own both the English and Canadian versions,
.Love Justin, Charlie Hanum (English) and Emmit. Emmitt is more Nellie than I like but a fun guy with a good body. Brian is protrayed as super handsome but they couldn't find an actor to meet the part in either version.

I said it once, I'll say it again, I hated queer as folk. where the fuck were the black, asian, gays?
I loved the show, but I always found myself thinking this, as well. It was as if they went out of their way NOT to include minorities.

I remember the first time I saw this show. I was home alone and I was still a,little closeted gay boy and I was watching this and my parents pulled into the drive way and i hurried and turned of the tv and ran to my room and stay up most of the night hoping they wouldn't turn it on and find that I had been watching it. At that time I thought Brian was the hottest thing I had ever seen

Brian wasn't sexy beacuse he was hot. Brian was sexy beacuse he was Brian. I loved him from the first sight, everything about him, but it was always more about his personality and not the good looks.

Ben, Ted, Michael, on the other hand - no, thanks.

I'm currently re watching 5th season.
