I can't wait till tonight... Anyone have picks for whose gonna win the first rounds?...

My picks are highlighted in red:

East:

1. Bruins vs Canadians

2. Capitals vs Rangers

3. Devils vs Hurricanes

4. Penguins vs Flyers


West:

1. Sharks vs Ducks

2. Red Wings vs Blue Jackets

3. Canucks vs Blues

4. Blackhawks vs Flames

So what does everyone think?

Last night was not very good night in my opinion. All the teams I'm rooting for let me done, :rolleyes: except the devils. Hopefully tonight will be better when my two favorite teams play, the wings and bruins...

Well, the Flyers are off to an awful start. I'm hoping they'll turn it around but I don't know...

Detroit's started better than I expected. And how about those Ducks!! A rookie playoff goaltender getting a shutout over the President's Trophy winner! I love it.

Guess who'll be by the TV tonight?
 
my social life was already pretty dead.. now with playoff hockey, i'm spending LOTS of time in front of the tube.

Boston just took a 2-0 lead in the first.. doesn't look good for the habs.

Rangers beat the Caps this afternoon.. Caps just can't beat Lundqvist.. who's quite the money goalie.
 
I am in a DEEP state of depression. The Flames came out flying in both games in chicago, they never fell behind the hawks until OT. In the second game, they blew a 2 goal lead.

At least now the hawks have to step into the C of Red.

I had picked the ducks to win in 6, I cannot believe they are going to sweep. Its like the better the Sharks get, the harder they choke in the playoffs.

My picks before the playoffs started:

Boston in 4
Washington in 6
Devils in 5
Pittsburgh in 6
Anaheim in 6
Columbus in 6
Vancouver in 7
Calgary in 6
 
I had high hopes for St Louis... but they have disappointed me. At least the games have been close.

I'm jealous. But glad for you!

The one time I visited the Saddledome, I was NOT near the ice. I was in the upper level. It felt like I was very very far from the action. Then I looked behind me.

There were TWELVE rows behind me yet.

Some of the other NHL arenas have far better sightlines. I was at Philips Arena in Atlanta two weeks ago, and it's truly excellent.

Having said that...it's been a very interesting series. And since I have a Flames calendar on my wall, from my best Canadian friend, who's lived in Calgary for years now...AND a Black Hawks hat I often wear...well, whoever wins this series becomes my Western Conference favorite.
 
I'm pissed that the sharks won last night. Hopefully the ducks can win game 6 at won and thus win the series. Philly also let me down yesterday, whoever plays the pens next better take them out. Glad the hawks were able to win last night, I' hoping they win on Monday in Calgary and put the flames out for the season.

Anyway today I'm rooting for the caps to force a game 7 back in DC. Anyone else think John Tortorella has lost his mind when he threw a bottle at a fan.

And tonight I'm rooting for Marty and the devils put the hurricanes out.

Oh, John Tortorella has every right to have lost his mind. After all, he won the Stanley Cup and the next season was cancelled.

It seems nobody talks about that. Nobody has any outrage that there was no Stanley Cup playoff in 2005.

Well...I don't forget. I boo Gary Bettman whenever I see him on TV. I haven't forgiven.

So that's an excuse to throw a bottle at a fan? C'mon I can't stand bettman either but it's not is fault Tortorella is nuts. I just hope he and avery lose their minds and the caps make them pay.

I am in a hockey pool at work , went with the Rangers but it is going to be tough to win @ Washington tomorrow.

Took a chance with Anaheim and if they lose tonight they are done.

No, if the ducks win tonight they're in the 2nd round and the sharks are done for the season. And I agree go ducks!
 
The Flames make their annual first round exit. This time the excuse is that Phaneuf was playing injured again, Regehr was out, Sarich had a broken foot, Giordano was out, leaving 4 out of our top 6 D-men injured or playing injured.

If only we didnt shit the bed in the end of the season and got home ice advantage

My life is over.

Glad to see the ducks win. I meant, if Anaheim woudl have lost last night, i dont see them winning a game 7 in SJ. but irrelevant now.

and the carolina vs NJ game 7 is going to be a good one. I say it will be under 5.5 goals
