Anybody ready for PLAYOFF HOCKEY!

What a great night last night! Glad the ducks win so now the wings can take them out next. Also glad the Hawks won, I hope they beat the Canucks. I'd like to see Hawks vs Wings in the West finals.

As for tonight, I hope the devils can pull it out. Also hoping the caps and ovie can blast the rangers out of the playoffs.

Washington is heavily favored tonight, they should win and i am rooting hard for Jersey, I have them moving on.

well i assumed NJ would win at home and hoped the Rangers woudl pull it off but since I have pitts and Boston in the conference final the Carolina upset suits me well

Pittsburgh vs Washington

I have Boston and Detroit playing in the Stanley cup final in my pool at work.

as long as those 2 make it, i hav a good chance of winning it.

quite a few people had San Jose advancing or even winning the cup

I love this year's Black Hawks. Young, fast, solid...well, maybe with a veteran goaltender and Martin Havlat...they look good to me.
 
I'm very happy for the most part with the 1st round. Here are my hopes for the 2nd round and they are highlighted in red.

East

Its weird that we consider Havlat a vet, he is still only 28. That team is going to be dominant in a couple years. I am a big fan of Toews, and I can admit that now that the Flames are out.

Anaheim is not going to go down without a fight. What a stubborn team that is. Too bad I have detroit in the Stanley Cup, otherwise i would root for Anaheim
 
Chicago won . This series is going to go to a 6th or 7th game. chicago is young and had not seen much of them in the regular season.

Yes, that would be might ideal cup finals. Although then I'd be torn because the wings and bruins are my two favorite teams. So I don't know who I'd root for lol.

Looks like none of the teams are going away easily in round 2, heavy favorites like Detroit and Boston have lost a game...good news for those of us who want 6 and 7 game series, more hockey is fine by me!

anaheim is doing exactly what I figured they would, give the wings a hell of a time. Game 4 is Thursday night and it is a MUST game for the wings.

what's up with boston ? down 2-1 in the series? I thought they would be able to handle Carolina.
 
As a Hurricanes fan I am a little surprised too...Boston won all the games in the regular season by a lot. The Canes have shown in the last few years if they make it into the playoffs they are making a deep run. They make it exciting too, the NJ series had some incredible endings. I love the Pens-Caps series too, the last game in that series was a thriller!

the Canes are dangerous. Ward is playing his best hockey, Staal is a playoff performer, and then you have support staff guys like Jokinen and Larose producing. Who thought that Jussi would be the best Jokinen in this year's playoffs? :)

Normally i'd say that a series is not over at 3-1, but in this case i think it is. The look of confusion on Julien and the Bruins' faces tells me they just don't know what to do at this point.
 
I have Boston winning it all in my hockey pool but from watching the games, i doubt they will win 3 in a row. Carolina moves on
 
Good iwn by detroit today up 3-2 now, and hope they finish anaheim off on Tuesday

Boston won but they have to go win on the road now.

It looks like Vancouver is done on monday.

My thoughts on round 2 that just ended...
East:
Very disappointed in both the caps and bruins. I really thought the bruins could pull it off. As for the the cap series, the last game was embarrassing. And I'm so sick of crosby being shoved down our throats.

West:
I'm glad the hawks put away the canucks. And obviously I'm very very glad the wings put the ducks in their place. At the end Hiller looked like his was going to start crying lol.

Now for my hopes for round 3....

East:
I personally could care less, my only hope is that they beat the hell out of each other. But I have a funny feeling the pens will squeeze by the canes.

West:
Obviously I'm rooting for my wings. I also doubt that the hawks have good enough goaltending to win the series. The wings have smoked both the hawks goalies this year. Anyway I think it will be wings vs pens again this year. And hopefully with the same outcome!
