Anybody using this kind of tea infuser?

How would you clean the interior of such a (small looking?) tube?

I would find a teapot with a wide-mouthed strainer like this:


Much easier to clean the loose leaves etc.

I like tea paraphernalia and this looks intriguing. The idea that you can re-use it sounds a bit off-putting. I wonder if they mean leave it lying around until your next tea break, or just that two people can share it at one sitting? The leaves don't have much room to circulate, so presumably they still have some 'power' left in them after the first go.

I won't rest till I've got one.

That do look rather cool but my thought was of the area below the strainer holes. Seems like tea could get down there and just be wasted.

I dont make tea as often but do pour over coffee. Even in a big giant pour over cup like this:

I still have to make sure all the coffee gets wet by stirring, otherwise clumps of dry coffee can remain. Still the idea is sound. Perhaps less of a solid area at the bottom and with a bottom cap you can screw off so you can clean the tube with a bottle brush.....

It's just tea. Rinse it under hot water and you're done, I guess.

Tea-bag in metal tea-pot > boiling water in > gas or electric hob > pour out.

Definitely one of the simple pleasures of life.

It is such a shame that the nation that brought tea to a fine art in the West would have accepted the dumbing down of tea in the post war era...the only tea bagging that should be done is like this.

I would have expected glass for a price like that, not extremely brittle plastic. Still though, it works extremely well, and I would highly recomend it.

Cold or not, you can stick that tube where the sun don't shine. We'll see just how friendly the little eco is when you've been walking around all day while it infuses your feces.

I've simplified my tea; and now use one of these:



It just sits in my cup, and lets the tea infuse unhindered. Then I just take it out, pop in a bit of milk and drink it!

This, sort of. Plenty of room for the tea, easy to clean (which matters if you vary the tea types), and extra-fine mesh for teas that need that. What I actually use is a refill for some sort of tea brewing system I don't have. I just lower the open-top mesh basket into a mug or pot.
