Anyone else have a thing for Horror movies?

The last three that I really liked:

The Orpahanage
Cloverfield
The Mist

Then, there are those movies where you root for the killer to get it over with so the movie would end. Case and point, The Strangers.

And talk about cheese, I watched The Dentist this week. Oh lord.... at least it had some humor.

Netflix has a great library for B Horror Flix.

I'm a massive horror fan, absolutely adore the genre. Love anything with zombies or the supernatural...not as big on slasher films, but I still really enjoy them. So aye, bit of a gore hound.

I can't wait for this one!!
It was supposed to come out in Oct/08 studio pushed it back
It was screened at Screamfest last year and apparently got good reviews.

*shrugs* oh well, i'm patient :D

I thought that one came out a while ago? I remember all the reviews and crap for it. Looks really cool. Anna Paquin is amazing.

I think it had a limited release(about 400 screens nationwide) much like the Midnight Meat Train.
Oh well..dvd it is then.

I wouldn't call The Mist a horror film. It played out more like a mystery.

True, it's pretty much a hybrid like many Steven King stories. However, it definitely had horror elements. How about that ending?

I actually saw it coming and, for the first time with a SK story, was not impressed. It was kind of a let down. The whole story seemed quite watered-down compared to usual SK fare.

Interesting, many people I know disliked it as well. I read the short story a long time ago. Needless to say, they changed the ending for the movie, but I heard that King signed off on it. Can't say I saw that coming... I was like WTF? (Plus, I never understood why they didn't look for gas, but that's another story).

Speaking of King, anyone see 1408?

I really liked The Mist until the ending (movie).

I’m starting to get into horror movies now that I’ve been playing dead by daylight. I would love a list of queer horror films to check out

Not the best person to ask this because I haven't seen too many, but to name a few.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is extremely homoerotic, huge queer overtones in this film and the main actor is gay. The film itself is not the greatest but it is entertaining.

Interesting enough, the later Chucky films getting into dipping into Queer representation. Starting with Bride of Chucky, where there is a Queer character and Seed of Chucky exploring the doll questioning their gender identity, this one I feel stirs a bit into a problematic tropey thing but it is there. The series is really goofy though, it isn't for everyone.

Interview with the Vampire, Tom Cruises and Brad Pitts relationship basically make this a queer horror. You see a young Kirsten Dunst and I found her pretty phenomenal for a child actor in this.

Fright Night, Vampire moves in next door to a teenager basically pretending to be a gay couple with the servant they have. There's also quite a few Queer actors in this film that I did not know about before refreshing myself on what Queer oriented films I have seen. This movie is pretty cheesy and fun, though. Apparently the second one is even campier, but I have not seen it.

Now, The Ritual itself is not Queer Horror but the director Carter Smith is and it is pretty good, more recently the director has started delving into making Queer Horror though with an episode in Hulu series "Into the Dark" - Midnight Kiss, it was pretty decent, nothing too amazing about it, though. This directors next film is called Swallowed, so I am personally keeping an eye out for that. Lol.

Also if you liked podcasts there is one called Horror Queers and they're big on horror in general and exploring if the movies themselves have any Queer under/overtones.

It's a TV show, but American Horror Story (and the spinoff American Horror Stories) is gay as hell. Not that hell is gay. Well it is to some people but fuck them.

Hellbent, and Otto; or Up With Dead People. Notre Paradis has elements of what some might consider "horror."

I like watching horror movies I have a collection of them on dvd

Show of hands how many of you jerked it to Nightmare on Elm Street 2? That gym teacher could have DEFINITELY had his way with me in those locker room showers, the locker room, the gym, his office fuck now i'm hard!

I absolutely love horror movies. Slasher flicks, supernatural thrillers, monster movies, etc.
