Not as much as we care for cocks, I guess.
I like sports though. I think the fact that we're from different parts of the world and enjoy different sports makes it hard to have a conversation about them.

we are a small group that's for sure. But those of us who post here are a dedicated, and in some cases, like my buddy Abs, are very intense sports lovers.
And no one can debate baseball like my main sports man Sausy.
A while back the sports forum was removed and we were moved to other threads. A few of us begged to have the sports forum returned and our pleas were heard and granted. I encourage all JUB sport lovers to start new sports threads and respond to existing ones. Oh, and please keep it about sports and not just about how hot some player is. I think it's fine to pepper a thread a little about how cute some dude is, I do it sometimes. It's kinda hard for me not to get a little girlie when ever I write about David Wright
but the jest of the thread should be about sports.

I'm a sports nut. Have been involved in various sports myself for years.
Oh - and this Forum might not be the busiest - but it's all about quality, not quantity - and try and take our forum away - and just see how vocal everyone gets!

admittedly the only sport i really get into for MORE than just how hot the guys are is MMA. i made sure to catch most of Men's Gymnastics specifically for the eye candy but, i can't help but appreciate the talent and skill that they put into it.
if i didn't have such a limited attention span, i think i could MAYBE get into basketball.

Look at the Hot Topics forum. There are several sports related threads there.
For example:

The mods could re-direct such threads to the Sports Forum. But they don't.
Which is understandable. Many religious themed threads are posted on Hot Topics. They are not re-directed to the Religion Forum.
The Sports Forum is for JUBbers who are into sports. And there are many of them.
There will always be silly threads such as:

But even these daft threads show there are many JUBbers who are interested in sports.
Look at the Hot Topics forum. There are several sports related threads there.

!I love reading his perspectives,analysis,opinion....and of course the sexiness of a particular athlete(exhibit A "David Wright")is fine so long as the thread doesn't become one long drool!
Absolut is another great baseball fan who's a friend here and he is another who passionately knows his Cards and overall baseball stuff,and I love playing around with him and sonny over Mets and Cards performances and standings.Stevenavy is another huge St. Louis fan,and overall baseball fan who knows his stuff!Bradlee knows and loves his Bosox,with shep2...chance1 is another huge Mets fan who knows his baseball.So many other guys who don't post as much yet are passionate and knowledgeable and we love to hear from them all!
I love basketball as well and gymnastics too,thrilled about the gold and silver all around medals for our gals,silver medal for our gals team competition and our guys getting an unexpected,exhillarating bronze...really got into our swimming team and the quest for 8 goals by the incomparable Michael Phelps!
I don't get the feeling sports aren't popular here,though there could be more posts and threads started.I think gay men and women definitely have a significant number into sports either in the competitive ones as passionate fans or participants who really enjoy playing as much as if not more than just engaged in the games as fans.

I think it is safe to say that guys come here to JUB not to talk about sports (unless about the athletes). There are tons of other websites, groups, blogs, to do it. Well, we also can just look to the (straight) guy next to us at the office/bar to do so.

I don't think the comment that "...nobody here likes sports..." is accurate, but it is true that it is the least active of all the threads. I used to be a huge baseball fan, but now I just follow my Diamondbacks. Now football is another story. I can spend a whole freakin' Sunday watching the am game, then the afternoon game, then the Sunday night game. I would love to discuss the NFL with other gay guys, but it doesn't appear to stir much interest. That's okay, I can discuss football with my straight guy friends.

i am an addict to the sporting world, so when i joined the site, i was very excited to see a sports forum, but i guess i would have been floored to see a heavy traffic area in this part.
I love football. I love everything about it. Particularly college football. I get chills just think about it. I love the roar of a stadium on kickoff, and the traditions all the schools have. its amazing.

I love certain sports. But how many NLL indoor lacrosse fans are on this board? That has less to do with homosexuality and more to do with the fact that I tend to like the fringier sports. I figure the Rockies, the Broncos, the Nuggets and the Avs get enough money and attention. If I'm gonna catch a football game here in town, I'm going to watch the Crush, or I'm going to go catch a high school game. And these aren't topics I can really chat about with others here.

I think there are more people on this forum that like sports than you may think, but those who do just aren't very vocal about it.

I agree with the idea that sports isn't why we're here. Sports are big in the gay neighborhood bars here in Baltimore. And there's plenty of guys who play recreational sports here.
I think internet 'sex' sites like JUB are for sex, for making connections or for validating ones self.
The many gay guys I know who seriously enjoy following and playing sports go those sports sites and blogs when they want information. Or they watch with friends or BS in bars. Me, too. I hadn't realized JUB even brought back this board until today.
Anyway for me it's more fun to talk about (argue, pontificate) sports or do them in person.
