Easy to install?

Runs off home WiFi?

Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated :)

get it. mine takes a picture as soon as someone approaches and records video if they're there more than a second, both are texted to me in real time. since we're living in the purse and refuse to give people a fighting chance, not only do we have legit evil people to worry about, there's also good-natured people who are just desperate and out of options. life on the human tax farm.

my other half can answer the techincal questions i just pay the bill every month.

We have one with our security system Safe Touch. When someone presses the doorbell it sends a notification to my nieces cell phone and also records on the systems unit. We also have wireless cameras outside that record.

I have a wireless doorbell security camera. I just don't have a doorbell.

^ you misspelled technical as well.

I'd love one, but it won't work with my apartment set up.

I did have a smart lock and will again. I need to try another brand though.

I used to work at a house with a big sticker on the door that read "You can't see Arlo but Arlo can see you!".

And right there above the door is Arlo: as big as a pomegranate, glaring white and silver against the dark bricks it was mounted on. You'd think that if they can fit tiny cameras in phones they could do the same with security systems.

I suppose a visible camera is a pretty good deterrent but I still think it would be better to just dig a moat.

Aren't we a ways off from functional smart locks? I feel like if we bring that out now it's just a matter of time before they get hacked and customers become victims of all the things smart locks are supposed to prevent.

If someone wants in enough they will find a way. I have a large glass patio door so it would not be that hard. The trick for me is to not let people know I have a smart lock.

The only ones I am interested in are all on the inside. To those outside it looks like a regular lock. As for the WIFI part I name it like it is just another WIFI, which is easy enough since I live in a large apartment complex.

I am honestly only interested in them because I have spine and IBS issues. Sometimes I don't have time to unlock the door and with a smart lock if working correctly, which the last one didn't, my door should unlock when I pull into my parking spot.

I thought about that, even my doorball cam can probably easily be smashed with a rock or something, or be spraypainted over.

Since it's wireless, it's most likely a stick on, or maybe a couple of small screws.

I'd just take it and stick it to a lamppost in the two bit whore part of town along with a sign above it that reads 'Sad sap watching. Please push button and flash pink.'

That is my thing about smart products in general. They can be great, but if everyone knows you use it they can find ways to mess with it. Where if you had a doorbell that had a wireless camera not connected in plain view, but hidden, I feel it would be much safer. Hell even two cameras. One on the doorbell and one hidden at random.
