I've wanted one for most of my life and just got one.

What colors is your lamp?

Mine is purple liquid with yellow "lava". When lit up it looks like real lava/fire.

I have one, Just don't have it plugged in atm.

I still have one

I believe the first one we had was when they first came out - around 1953-54?

I got one for my birthday afew years ago & another one for christmas the yr before last
i gave one to my brother the other one just sits in my room never on.

the novelty wore off after about 2 weeks

I have two of them.

My home lava lamp was a gift from my brother on my 30th birthday. It is the traditional black lamp with yellow fluid and red lava. I don't light it very often.

A few years ago (8, maybe?) Big Lots had them on sale for $9.99. I purchased one for my classroom that had a purple and white swirl lamp, with clear fluid and purple lava. I light it in my classroom each day during the school year. The kids get a kick out of it, and so do I. :D

I have one with blue liquid and purple lava, but I haven't plugged it in for a few years.

I've got the originals and the colour bleeds after time but I still like them

You guys are no fun.
Don't be sad.

The equivalent of lavalamps for the 00s are those colour changing LED lamps:
