  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Anyone know how to remove scars?

Don't worry about it and make up a story for when people ask you about it. Tell them when you were little you were playing on a wire rack and slipped and ripped your arm open. I bet it's not that bad, and mostly it's fear in your head that it is worse than it really is.

You can always get a dragon tattoo to cover it and be bad ass. (*8*)

Ehhhhhhh, this thread has turned into something I really didn't want it to. And I'm responsible...but I am done. Thank you everyone who provided ideas.

Well, honey, you could always finish the job.

Poor thing, bless your pea picking heart. :(

Apparently no one has ever shared with you the basics of human interaction.

There's absolutely no reason why anyone should defend themselves from your "honesty" because, if anything you're not being honest with who you really are, and where you really live. ..|

I'm just saying. ;)

 I always wonder if people who create 'other' accounts know that mods can see right through them.

Oh no! Don't go! [-X

If it gets to out of of control, I can fix it! :D

Okay, so to recap, you've been trying a lotion to heal or to clear scars.

Is it something that you got over the counter?

My Aunt got shot in the arm with a shotgun, and they had to put in pins and stuff, but what worked for her was Vitamin E.

At first she bought Vitamin E tablets, cut them open and rubbed the contents on her scars.

It didn't completely remove the scars, but it made it so that they looked more like blemishes than scars.

Have you tried that ointment that pregnant woman use to prevent stretch marks?

My understanding is, that after a point and once the scars has "set" there's really not much that you can do "ointment" wise.

Laser therapy, from friends of mine who have had it done, have been really impressed with the results.

So you may have to consider that route. :)

From what I know of those kind of scars (I know several people who attempted suicide in the same way), they are not 'clean'. They are jagged and rippled and plastic surgery may be your only option. As someone mentioned earlier, it's not something that can be erased with creams and oils.

If it's an old scar there is not much that a cream can do, it don't think. If you have money you can go to a dermatologist and they can recut the scarred area and stitch it back up with smaller stitches, or whatever they do they can make it almost not noticeable. Other than that try makeup.

I think laser treatment would do the trick as well; like erasing tattoos. I don't how good the result is though.

No, it was "hot."

I show, I do not tell. Hence why I've released a sex tape.

Well honey, we've both got something in common. I'll toast to that.

Sweetie, the external "no one" is irrelevant and inferior to the internal "someone," and I'm sure you know who the latter is. Takes notes, boo, you'll be on my level one day.

Pffft! How dare you try to take credit for me looking bad. I can do bad all by myself. Don't hate.

Haha, I really like you. I adore how you didn't argue anything I said, but instead went along with it and tried to pass fake arrogance off as pride. Because now I know who you really are. You are the person who hates everything about themselves except who they are on the internet. It's ok, you are not alone...I talked to many like you and it always ends the same way. Some day soon those people you've been talking to on yim or aim, you're going to "come out" in a teary exchange. It will all be really touching for you.

But I'm not your IM friend so I feel free to tell you the truth...you are a pathetic piece who isn't able to survive in the real world. I think it's absolutely adorable. But then again, I volunteer at an animal shelter so I go for that kind of stuff.

I really like the idea of the tablets...but laser surgery still sounds way out of what I can afford.

That's why I suggested it the vitamin E gel.

However, once a scar is "set" it's really kinda of hard to get rid of or to reduce with topical creams, ointments, or gels. :(

That's been my experience. (*8*)

So Kenny, the skin tone question I've been bugging about -

Are you overall a pretty pale guy? Olive complexion? Dark?

What I'm trying to get at is not trying to remove the scar, but trying to balance out the color difference between the scar and the rest of your skin tone...

Ok.

So your first post I ignored because I thought you were making fun of me.

The second post I thought you were just being an ass.

But this last one just made me laugh out loud and I usually don't do that on online stuff so just in case you were being serious, I'm irish pale.

Ok first off. Kenny, When I went in for chest surgery. They told me to put vitamin E oil on the scar. (You can see the scar in the post current pics thread I think)
This can be found in jar form at most drug stores. The nurses are the ones that told me to use it. So I think it is a legitimate answer, only time will tell. Oh by the way, that stuff stains clothes big time. So if you do use it, put it on at night and buy some cheap sheets.

Secondly,

Wow, I bet you feel real good for thinking of that one. Did you come up with it yourself? I bet you are so proud....

That is a fairly low class thing to say. Even if it was supposed to be a joke. A failed one at that.
I think JUB is a place where people can get help/info for a multitude of problems without someone trying to insult them. Many here get enough insults from the real world. They certainly could care less for your typical posts.

Maybe you get your rocks off on how much of a shit storm you can cause. I really don't know, and I really don't care. If your goal is to be that one person who nobody likes and no one wants to talk to, you are well on your way. Please keep it up though. Eventually no one will respond to your worthless posts because you will be on everyone's ignore list

I think Kennylingus' post pretty much nailed who you really are. But incase you read past it, here it is again

OMG, this is so past tense. If I really wanted to throw down in here, I would, so don't test me. Kenny came back strong in Gloria Gaynor form, and I let him win this round because I take pity on the weak.

Besides, I like Kenny and I think I'm training him well to rule by my side.

Right.

And here's how it's going to go down:
  • You're going to continue to offend to the extent that a flame-war is created.
  • Those who take the bait will assail you with every bit of reservation that they have so as to not get infracted or banned.
  • You'll make light of it.

After losing 50 to 60 pounds, my stretch marks became very visible. It's less noticeable now after weeks of applying coconut oil.

It's pink and I am very white.

Is it a raised scar; solid pink rising slightly above the skin surface?

If not, there's another product that's less that $100 that might help, though it's advertised as an "age defying cream."

ActiFade.

You should be able to pic this up at your local Walgreen's or CVS Pharmacy.

I've got some serious sun damage scars from not using enough sun screen when I was younger.

The cream itself is a little "itchy," but used with the three different tones of concealer that come with it, it should help not make the scar so noticeable.

I've been using this product for about a year, and it does "fade" the damage, but my dermatologist has told me that nothing but laser treatment will make the scars completely disappear.

It's something that you could try in the interim. ..|

I doubt that topical or lasers treatments will do much in this case. Cosmetic surgery is probably the most effective choice and quite a bit is possible for under $2000.

This thread makes me wanna do something about the scar on my face. :( See, I was in this knife fight that I don't like to talk about. The other guy ended up in very bad shape. Me, a 2 inch scar on my right cheek. Looks kinda like a kitteh whisker. I don't notice it at all anymore but sometimes a curious person will ask.

 I'm fibbing. It's a cat scratch. My very old kitteh was sleeping by the TV when I was in junior high and I startled him when I layed down next to him to wach TV. He did this wild ninja 180 crazy spin when my shoulder brushed him. He ended up on top of my head and his back foot left one hell of a mark as he did 0 to 60 in 3 seconds across my face.

The scar you're talking about is called a keloid and it's very common.

There is a product called Cica Care which is very effective in reducing and lessening the scars, especially if the scar raises out prominently and forms a keloid. It's a silicone gel bandage that you stick on the scar. But the time taken to show its effect is long...my aunt who had a C-section used that for about a year and it literally vanished, leaving only a small crease people won't notice at all. Try that.
