Anyone Know What Happened to Dudevu???

This thread reminds me of those monkeys hooked on cocaine who, when their supply was cut off, would press the cocaine button until they dropped from exhaustion.

Not only that, but the monkeys are also pointing out to the people who took away the cocaine where its other sources are so that those buttons can be turned off too.

Heh.

Re: trouble with dudevu

if I don't pay for it, I don't feel like I own it.

I download music from iTunes even if I buy the CD.

Go figure.

Well then you already payed for it. At least after German law you have every right to get your mp3s from the bought CD :)
And it is even "borderline" to download the mp3s to CDs that you own .. BUT it is not legal for the people to offer that download ;)

Ugh this thread is tinged with hostility. I think the onus is on the creator to monitor where their content is being distributed. It's the exact same thing as "real" films popping up on streaming video websites. It's inevitable. There will still be people who will pay for it, and there will still be people who will settle for the lower quality segments of it. Fact is, even though Dudevu was shut down, there are hundreds of other sites that will distribute clips in turn, and be shut down in turn. It's supply and demand, and its inevitable. Talking about it in circles and referring to posters as addicted monkeys surely isn't helping anything?

That said, if its illegal, the distributor has every right to shut down the operation. But if they are late getting there, I'm certainly going to get while the getting is good.

So if you leave some lawn furniture in your yard and don't lock it down, it's OK for me to just come take it? I mean, the onus is on you to make sure I can't steal your stuff, right?

If you happen to leave your car running in the winter to heat it up.. it's Ok for me to just come drive it away?
