Where do i start, the US health system is really sick !!!

Very sad for the poor and the average Americans.

My goodness,
that American woman cried because her medicine cost $120 in the US but cost only 5 cent in Cuba !!!

I remember watching it a few years back. It was very compelling.

If ever there was a time to re-release a movie in cinemas across the U.S., then it should be for this one, now.

In the current political climate, it really needs to be seen again, by as many people as possible.

Those fat cat politicians in America really make me sick while watching Sicko.

Is there really such a fear of 'socialized health care' as I've been led to believe in America?

Yes i think so.
When you read the political debates on this site, they really fear the word "social" like socialist, socialism ... etc. which is very stupid.

lol. News to me.

I just don't like him, I mean obviously he's not wrong when it comes to health care. But just like anyone else his documentary is heavily edited in his favor.

So ?
As long as he is not wrong. To get your treatment approve first while you are sick is just wrong.

That was the bullshit part. Yes doctors are free, but there are mo medications to buy or money to buy them with. What good are doctors without medications?

Micheal Moore's movies are designed to make you think. He's been doing this for over twenty years now, I don't think he believes he himself can change anything.

whether you want to agree with what he says or not, he's fulfilled his goal.

Yep,it sucks for them.Luckily being close to poor myself,I rely heavilly on the ''socialist healthcare'' I get from the Veterans Administration. The same kind socialized medicine that right wing zealots badmouth.

I have been using the V.A. for years and am very happy with them.It costs me next to nothing and the care is pretty damn good. The right wingers like to talk a lot of shit about ''independence''-really what it is ,is a hatred of poor people. They want poor people to suffer.I mean, look at their patriarch Rush (Pigman) Limbaugh's remarks about Haiti if there was ever any doubt.

The thing is, Michael Moore is such a polarizing figure. To many people,he's jsut preaching to the choir. To the right wing America Haters,he's a Communist/Socialist/Leninist/Insert''ist''. Even if he showed their Grandmothers being gang raped, they'd say she was asking for it..

Is there really such a fear of 'socialized health care' as I've been led to believe in America?

Yes.But it's more of a crazed political dogma. That anything capitalist is good, and anything that helps average people must be bad. It's even worse if it affects the bottom line of billionare CEO's who stand loose money should the playing field be leveled a bit.

It's gotten even worse now that Obama is President.Anything he stands for(whatever that may be, as he seems very flexible on most things) or even passively supports, must automatically be bad in the eyes of the opposition, minority party republicants..

However, back a few years ago, when Bush was advising senior citizens to invest their social security checks in the stock market,(that later crashed) that was A-OK.If Obama has suggested the same thing, the morons would have lost their minds, complete with mis spelled signs warning Obama to ''LEEVE GRANNYS MONEY ALONE.''

Just on the Australian news radio,
they talk about american state election and the health system again.

As always, Moore makes some good points.

Unfortunately he usually ballses it up at the end with some over-sensationalised garbage. In Sicko it was the woman whose husband needed a procedure which wasn't covered and was dying.

She very tearfully says something to the tune of "on January 6th, the night before my birthday, he went to sleep. And died... a week later."

That one part just makes me take the entire documentary with a massive Michael Moore-sized bucket of salt.
