Apple announced a $4,999 monitor and its stand sold separately for $999

Never been an Apple user and I certainly won't start now. How expensive are their laborers in China? What gives them the gall to mark things up so much?

Fuck you, Apple.

Apple used to be about quality and functionality. Now they are more and more gearing their market to the high end set. It's not that they aren't raking in enough revenue... Apple's got a cash flow small nations would envy. But they can never stop, it's never enough.

..| Yep! Can we say P. T. Barnum.

Like any other tech product, the price will eventually drop. Or a new model with extra features will appear for the same price next year.

But a $1000 stand? Puh-leez.

Our first macs were about $5500 each.

We only had mac in the office for about 3 years before having to switch to IBM, then to HP.

Apple is losing sight of their market again.

So many times you post what I was going to say...
Have you seen the YouTube video where they unveil the $1000 stand? You can hear an audible gasp of astonishment from the audience when the M.C. announces the price!
And NO, it's not a gasp of enthusiasm or happiness. Even their own people know this is way over the line.
Apple has completely abandon their customers, and all that seems to run the company is greed.
I'm in a bit of a pickle, and that I started with Apple years ago, and have a lot of expensive third-party software that only runs on Apple. I recently took a two-year-old MacBook Pro in for service, and the tech actually said to me "Its not really worth it to spend money servicing such an OLD MACHINE like this..."

I am now using Windows 10 and it is very good.
It just start very quickly and ready to use

It's for a $5,000 monitor.

R&D costs need to be spread over the number of units sold.

Apple might even be losing a little bit of money on these stands.

$12,000 for a starting price ??
Apple is going down for an average consumer. Why telling the consumer then if it is meant for big industry.

Lubrication.

Makes them feel a little less uncomfortable about the ass reaming they took/take for their personal use items.

The greedy Apple is no good again.
