Apple has a very strong fanbase and that's to be expected.

I think it's great that Apple is doing so good! It can only improve Microsoft's products, concurrence is always good!

The problem I have with OS X is that unfortunately, it still doesn't support a lot of the software I use.

I'm using Vista at home and Win 98 (yep, u read that right) at work. Haven't had any problems with Vista whatsoever. It's very reliable and intuitive. Win 98, a blue screen here and there but overall, it's doing it's job...

there is a good reason for this apple only sells hardware in the upper price range there is no base models and they control both hardware and software if they did not do well iwould be surprised

for some reason people are less satisfied with there $400 dell laptop that hardly has thespecs torun any modern os properly than a $1000 mac with $600 more power

ps dont know the actual pricesin theus soused approx prices given the differances in price here

^ He said "mac loyalty".
Many, many apple fans will not give them bad ratings despite some very weird things they do .. like send in your mp3 player to change a battery. it's like madonna fans - stilling buying her new single, even when it's just real crap.

Need more info. However appears to be video card driver problem. If an INVIDA card this is a common problem.Have you done windows up date lately?

Just having some fun here... :)

# Extreme obsessiveness regarding the group/leader resulting in the exclusion of almost every practical consideration.

# Individual identity, the group, the leader and/or God as distinct and separate categories of existence become increasingly blurred. Instead, in the follower's mind these identities become substantially and increasingly fused--as that person's involvement with the group/leader continues and deepens.

# Whenever the group/leader is criticized or questioned it is characterized as "persecution".

# Uncharacteristically stilted and seemingly programmed conversation and mannerisms, cloning of the group/leader in personal behavior.

# Dependency upon the group/leader for problem solving, solutions, and definitions without meaningful reflective thought. A seeming inability to think independently or analyze situations without group/leader involvement.

# Hyperactivity centered on the group/leader agenda, which seems to supercede any personal goals or individual interests.

# A dramatic loss of spontaneity and sense of humor.

# Increasing isolation from family and old friends unless they demonstrate an interest in the group/leader.

# Anything the group/leader does can be justified no matter how harsh or harmful.

# Former followers are at best-considered negative or worse evil and under bad influences. They can not be trusted and personal contact is avoided.

Ahhhh! Sounds like the Ubuntu Linux crowd!

^ That was my first church experience.

Yup, we were definitely headed down the Cult Road.

I use Vista, and have been having vid driver issues. The system will lock, and then I get a plethora of various, thin coloured vertical lines, and I have to reboot.

It's really random too. Things can be fine for days, and then I'll have the system lock up two or three times in one day.

Not sure HOW to fix the problem and it's damn annoying.

I've considered going the Mac route, and may one day, just, not today. :)

Whatever you do, if you do get a Mac, avoid the ones with the NVIDIA cards.. the very SAME thing happens. The MacPro forums on the apple site got buried in posts when they released the first run of the 8-cores with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT cards.. what a fucking nightmare!

What the heck are you using that still needs OS 9??? I think the last thing I used that needed it was Quark, back in 2002.

Autodesk AutoCAD and CSI SAP 2000. Both leaders in engineering software (CAD and Structural Analysis). Both are windows only.
BTW, not talking about OS9, talking about Mac OS in general. I'm a PC user.

I know people can use boot camp on Macs but having a separate OS for your business needs is to me a bit ridiculous.

ummm i heard so many good reviews about Mac such as final cut pro ... etc

BUT i'm not going to buy it any time soon because windows works just fine and much cheaper too. :)
