just got my iphone 5 this Christmas season and just heard the word that the 5s is out august Fuck me! =(

That's the main reason I don't own a 5 because 5s comes out in a couple of months and the 6 is coming out in 2014.

That's why I don't own any Apple products at all. What a waste of time. Minor "updates" every new phone and products cost a fortune. It's pretty much why Apple is now missing sales projections. they aren't innovative.

Apple isn't missing sales projections. They have hit or exceeded every single one of them.

Also, get used to iterative updates. The smartphone market has reached a point where the technology is mature and not due for any big disruptions.

You must be new to technology. (or, rather, the smartphone market) Every major manufacturer is on a yearly release cycle.

I don't keep up with the Jones with electronics as soon i brought my flat screen tv a better one came out. Apple is very so overpriced i don't really don't buy anything from them. I doubt i will be getting an iphone ever since my sprint bill is so high

Apple has 100 plus billion in cash and investments (lt and st) ...I believe so they should be focusing on buying back their shares or making acquisitions that make sense and build value to create a durable company (brand also). They could also payout a special div though they might not want the tax implications. Otherwise, Tim Cook's days may be numbered otherwise as the BOD looks at other leadership. But looking forward, they are looking to combine fashion and technology moving to wearable tech like the IWatch though the business model for such a rollout is not clear yet.

I'm not excited.

Apple has exceeded their own estimates and improved their sales, profit and cash on hand vs a year ago. However, they under-performed vs analysts estimates, which started the stock decline. They are still the number 2 company in the US in terms of Market Cap, second only to Exxon.

Null Post...........Sorry Google Chrome is having problems tonight!

You realise that every phone manufacturer on Earth releases new models every 6-12 months, right?

If you want to have the latest greatest phone all the time, be prepared to buy two phones at least each year. Otherwise, just be content that you have a cool phone that does what you need it to do.

Actually recent sales have not been good at all and they missed their own targets for recent products.

Apple is experiencing its highest overall sales ever, and beat their own sales targets for iPhone and iPad last quarter. They would have sold more if they could manufacture enough to meet demand. This information is clearly laid out in your own link. The only target they didn't meet was that of some third party analysts, but they actually beat those same analyst's profit projection anyway. In other words, they sold a little less than expected, but made more profit than expected.

They are rumoured to be expanding manufacturing capabilities into South America and the U.S. to better meet the demand for their devices.

I get my upgrade every 2 years when my phone contract is up. I just happen to eligible for upgrades during the second reincarnations of the iphone (3GS, 4S) so I will be getting the next release of the iphone 5 whatever you call it. Apple gets bashed all the time but i can't imagine not having my iphone, i use it most of day either for music or podcasts or texting, I rarely talk on the phone anymore lol.

I am happy to say I live in an Apple free zone and getting along just fine.

Oh...expect for Quicktime... but that's for porn so it doesn't count.

I'm still using my Iphone 4 because there is no law that you have to upgrade it.

It's also fun to spell it Iphone because the spell checker can't stand it, but eventually it is forced to yield by the algorithms that aPple itself programmed into it... I expect this causes a migraine somewhere inside the Apple Head Office.

Kindly show me where Apple has missed internal projections. I'm sure I'll be waiting a while since such proof does not exist.

The only thing investors are pissy about is that growth is slowing down [as any sane person would project] relative to the robust growth they already were having a year and two ago. Apple was a victim of pump-and-dump.

Pretty much. Since 2007 and the original iPhone, the smartphone market has become saturated. Huge growth isn't going to happen for ANY player at this point.
