Does anybody have one of these? If so do you like it? My old one succumbed to drywall dust and is really trying my patience. I'm looking for a board that is tactile, that you can hear, and that has a short key travel distance.
I had a Mac ADB keyboard which was the nicest thing anybody could hope for but everything is USB now.:(

No I have a black MacBook =(

I should have waited 1 year so I could get the new MacAir...

I have a wireless one and love it. It's so beautiful and sleek. The only thing I miss (on the bluetooth one) is the missing 10 key.

The standard one is great - big thumbs up from me. But the Bluetooth one's a disappointment, due to the lack of numeric keypad etc. Don't know what they were thinking with that one.

I'm using one and while it took a little bit to get used to, I'm liking it a lot. Its actually a lot more quiet than the traditional one, but its seems much easier to type on.

they look ok.

My favorite keyboard I got from a Goodwill Thrift store for a QUARTER, 25 cents.

It was circa early 90s. it had a nice yellowed finish LOL. The keys were delightfully responsive and required very little "oomph" to press, but made a very satisfying "CLICK" with each stroke.

My typing speeds have never been higher since i had that keyboard... I miss it.

None of hte LED lights worked properly save for the scroll lock which blinked like a connection was half connected. and the Print screen button would not lift back up, so I ended up popping hte key off and replacing it with the eraser end of a broken pencil.

I think that is the one I used to have. Its been said it was the best keyboard made (by Apple) anyways. Does it have the big L shaped return key? Fabulous board! Last time I saw it, it had that ugly yellow colour they turn when they get old.

I would say get this one

you said you liked you old keyboard and this is in the same style and you can get a mac key instead of windows and it will last forever ..|

anything from logitech is good too there wave keyboard looks good http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboard/devices/3071&cl=au,en

Looks like the Deck would be terrific but it IS expensive. There is a logitech floating around here too. Unfortunately it doesnt have an eject key to open the optical drives which are the drawer type. You can do a software eject but there has to be something in there to eject and the app from logitech gives you options on programming the extra A/V buttons but won't let you make one of them an eject key:( Most drives now load by slot load. My puter is 5 -- that would be 35 in dog years;)

Thanks to all who have replied. On this basis I will buy one. Hell they are only $49. so it doesn't require a capital budget approval:D

They are USD49. and CDN49. plus GST of 5%. The equivalent in AUD should be $55.
In Oz is VAT or GST INCLUDED in the price? If it is your vat is over $25%. That is bad!
I'm sure they are made a helluva lot closer to Oz than north america.
hijack.
I wanted to get a new iMac but the price was $100. more here than the US and at the time the Cdn dollar bought $1.07 USD. So I jerked off, got rid of the woody it was causing and kept my trusty ol' G4(!)

I didn't think I would like the new keyboard. I tend to type hard, and it looked too flimsy. I figured it would slide around on my glass-top desk.

But once I tried it, I was hooked. I can pound away, and it doesn't budge. Plus I don't have to shake it upside down to empty out all the crumbs and what not!

Yeah, they really are a lot sturdier than they look. I was surprised.

The eMark Super Mobile Keyboard is marketed as the world's thinnest keyboard and just so happens to be spill-resistant—no more worrying about a cup of joe (or, mayhap, other liquid-like substances) muddying up the keys. From Japanese company Kimura Metal, the keyboard measures only 1mm, or about 0.04-inches. The USB keyboard has a retractable cable and comes in both white and black. Since it's so thin, it's possible to wrap it much like a Fruit Roll-Up. It's due to hit Japan later this month for around $256. – Nicholas Deleon

You're correct that, if you're keyboard doesn't have a CD eject key, the F12 key automatically takes on that role. (You can reassign it if you don't want it to do so.) You can also add a clickable eject button to the upper right corner of screen (where the clock and other icons are).

I've got a new macpro keyboard - not the metal one with keys that look like Chiclets. It's okay - not what I'm used to at all though.. You're right about the ADB keyboard - someday I'm going to find an ADB/USB adapter - they're rumored to exist, (supposedly they worked with Wacom tablets, but really didn't) and when I do, this white monstrosity and it's dust and crumb collecting days are SO over..

Deb.

I have the new flat, metal kind with my new iMac. Thought I'd hate it, since I've always liked clicky keyboards with a lot of key travel. In fact, I still have a Northgate keyboard at work on my PC that's over 15 years old, because I liked the responsiveness and mechanical key connections.

BUT I have to say, I've grown to like the flat gray Apple keyboards with the white keys. They're very quiet, and I got used to typing on it very quickly. It's also extremely easy to clean. So you may like it much better than you think, after you use it for a while.
