aka Carpel Tunnel syndrome we barely knew thee ;)

on another note aluminium imacs and multi colours within 12 months just a hunch on the colours

IMO, that is one U-G-L-Y keyboard.
I can see those usb port's snapping off.

Hmmm.. I dunno if these are from an actual viable source.. They maybe just a fake or something. But I hope apple does get rid of the problem the current keyboards have - the whole keyboard is like a basin, it just traps dirt underneath the keys. Aside from that, it's perfect, nice and solid and definitely sexy. Maybe even put a nice coating on the keys so it doesn't get all grimey (being white). But if this pic is an authentic design proposal from apple, I'd say it's an okay initial concept, but needs major developement. I dunno if it's ergonomic at all (it's just so flat.. well too flat almost like using a laptop keyboard).

I won't bet on this though. I think this is just a fake. Apple design won't make such unthought of design.

Would like to see aluminum backlite keys instead of white! I also like the fact that it will not trap dirt underneath like their current keyboards. I like the design except I would like to see more USB connections. (Apple usually only does 2 on a wired keyboard.) I hope these come out as bluetooth as well. USB port are enclosed in Aluminum, how do you think they will snap off????

This is probably a hoax. The pics were originally posted to a Hong Kong Apple forum by someone called "Rhapsody", who was offereing to sell it for 1,200 Hong Kong dollars (= $153.40 USD).

It looks like a Photoshop, and, in fact, the EXIF data from the image contains hints that it was generated by that software. The command key lacks the Apple logo, something present on Macs since the beginning of time. Also, the numeric keypad has an "=" key in it, which might be a very good idea, but has never been seen before on either a Mac or a PC.

My Mac keyboard (white) has = on the numeric pad as well. Its above 8 and between clear and /

Ughhh. Tactile feedback, where are you? I'd have major issues typing on something like that.

That's actually one of the little details that make me think this is a real prototype from Apple - it's the sort of thing that your average hoaxer wouldn't think of, but which makes a lot of sense if you know the history behind it. The first Macs didn't have the Apple logo on the command key. It only got added a couple of years later when they started using the same keyboard with the Apple IIgs and the Mac. The IIgs needed an Apple logo key and the Mac needed a ⌘ (command) key, so they compromised by combining them into a single key with both symbols on it. After the IIgs was discontinued back in the 90s they kept the Apple logo on the key, but it never had any meaning on the Mac.

Looks like you'd have a field day trying to press those keys down.

^ I hope it doesn't turn out to be another hockey puck mouse type screw up. God that was awful.

Looks like the type of keyboard you can just slide your hand across the keyboard and the keys don't even need to be pushed down that hard.

I've never used any Mac stuff, although I'd like to try some if I could ever afford it, but I'm curious about one thing

Can you use any keyboard and mouse with a Mac, or do you have to use only Mac ones?

What do you do if you like everything about a Mac except for the keyboard and mouse, can you just change them for something else like with a PC?

I only ask this because each time I've bought a new PC, I've never really like the keyboard and mouse that came with it so I swapped them for different ones.

I do think you can use PC keyboards on a Mac not really sure. I know some Logitech ones that people use on their Mac.

i would like the keyboard (yes, although it's from apple ;) ). since most flat keyboards have either malformed numpads, space bars, enter buttons etc ..

Any USB mouse/keyboard should work. I used to use a Logitech mouse before Apple finally switched over to a two button mouse. My sister uses an MS mouse with her Mac.

When you first start up the Mac asks you the location of a few keys. By this it knows which keyboard you are using. Mac used to have one of the finest keyboards back in the '90's but they are pretty mundane now. And let's not talk about the round mouse. It must have been designed by a committee:confused:
