^ being a former public insurance adjuster I can tell you there is GREAT danger with automatic ice makers - every single day an icemaker misfunctions somewhere and floods an entire house - I am talking about a TOTAL LOSS - in a days time the house can up to the rafters in water - once a house takes that kind of water the mold and mildew is instant - I have seen it first hand DOZENS AND DOZENS of times - icemakers are BAD NEWS - if you have one in your freezer ALWAYS disconnect it before leaving town - we have ours perm disabled....
Well I was just talking a counter top you put the water in it and as long as there is water in it it'll make ice its not a permanent thing. We don't have the ice maker that came with it hooked up either we never have had an ice maker hook up and don' wanna start drilling blindly into the floor!
