Thanks, Jory!

Nice to be reminded: the modern march toward human rights began with stubborn colonials insisting on the ancient rights of their forefathers against a tyrant.

May we be so bold!

Tea, anyone?

We lost sight of our goals. It's time for another revolution.

Yes, and yes.
The Founders took for granted that we'd all stay alert and on guard, and carefully protect our liberties. Instead we slid into the easy trap of letting government flex its muscles, until it became gargantuan, a beast out of control. Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin all warned us, but when has that ever helped?

This time, we might be better off breaking the country back into small pieces.

How ironic, especially in the light of China and Tibet. The poor native Indians.

Lots of irony to go around, but this time around the revolution would have to include our Indians. . . they own all the gambling dens out in the sticks, and we don't have to go to Las Vegas or Atlantic city to lose our shirts any more. Who'd a thunk it?

Jory, thanks for the insight--

A plaque on the above statue reads:

On the morning of April 19, 1775, approximately 400 colonials stood on the hill
overlooking the north bridge. As smoke rose from Concord Center, the order to march was given.
In the exchange of fire that followed, Captain Isaac David, who had explained
'I haven't a man who is afraid to go'
was killed together with Abner Hosmer, A private, also from Acton.

"This memorial was erected by the Captain Isaac Davis Chapter of the
Daughters of the American Revolution, April, 1975."

native americans just had bad immigration laws

The English revolutionary word smith, Thomas Paine was blind to the rights of the native American peoples, but more than insightful when pronouncing on the rights of the British settlers.
