I hear you. Lived in Bahrain for a while.
Homosexuality is indeed forbidden in the Arab world and so is pre-marital sex which makes homosexuality, ironically, the only 'sexuality' clandestinely available to young men until they get married and even then, some of them continue to dabble in it because of the pleasures (fellatio, anal sex, etc) that they have been accustomed to that are now unavailable to them in a heterosexual coupling due to religion and culture. Well, that's a dizzying cycle of repression, isn't it?

I agree. I have just back from Syria and its a voyeurs heaven. Over half the male population must be under 35, and most are drop dead gorgeous. They still have compulsory national service, whihc is hard, so most are in great shape and keen to show off their muscles. Also tight trousers are the norm and showing the size of your package is obviously a macho thing. I even saw someone dressing a shop window dummy in a pair of tight jeans, and stuffing wads of paper in them to make a bigger bulge. Most go commando and its not a problem to see which side they hang on. Unfortunately homosexuality is against the law still, and although I didnt hear of any problems, most foreigners are kept under surveillance by the security.

However, I am told that Plamyra is getting a reputation for 'commercial' gay sex, and the souk in Aleppo is a great meeting place.

Of course, they are not all Arabs in the gallery. If you had read my thread belonging to the gallery you would have understood why there are guys from many different nations. The day I posted here was the first day I took pix of the parties around UEFA World Cup in Germany. And there were exclusively Tunisians in the pix .

Rafik, I agree with you there about the comment. Diri's comment however is just an opinion which doesnt really count for much anyway.
I too am Gay and a Muslim, it seems that Diri's perception is the biggest misinterpretation on his behalf. The country's values and principles are not symmetrical of the Qur'an, anyone who has actually read the holy book can support that and if they haven't I suggest they do so before making provocative comments without any real foundation.

Thats like saying americans are not from africa.

there are Arabs in Iran, but they are not the majority. the Persians don't take up all the land. There are some areas that are historically persian and some that are not. the modern borders of the mideast nations have NO historical relevance before the age of colonialism in the Mid East a century or so back.

Arabs make up less than 2 or 3% of Iranians.
 
@ Andreus lol arabs are only 2% of Iran (its about 70% iranic and about 30% turkic) and for your information Iran is the only country in the middle east (together with Turkey) that wasnt under foreign occupation.... study some history......
