I know that these here forums are full of spider lovers; anyway, as a little test of your strength of devotion to these animals, watch the first four minutes of this documentary. Let us know how you got on.

Oh fuck that!!!! I can deal with snakes and pretty much any other bug/insect etc....spiders however can fuck right off!!

This sucker was on my bedroom wall a few weeks ago....its only a huntsman but I sprayed him and he ran straight for my bed....which i was on whilst spraying.....I have never leapt from a bed so quick in my life.

put a spider near me and get punched.. i swear they are fucking creepy things.,. 8 legs... not normal!

Well, from a spider's perspective, walking upright on only two legs is not normal! I do have a soft spot for spiders; they are really amazing animals, and do a quite fantastic job keeping insect numbers at a reasonable level. The fact that a very few of them are dangerously venomous is just an evolutionary accident.

Not a fan of a spider in my house randomly dropping on or near me, but I don't mind them outside eating bugs.

Our first apartment had a nest of huge black spiders hatch in the spare room closet, the ceiling and upper walls looked like they were polka dotted. I have no clue what kind of spiders they were, but they were not local! The only thing I could find to kill them was oven cleaner, that was a mess. LOL

Spiders don't bother me as much as ants...I hate ants with a passion

So I guess I shouldn't post this picture in the "Cute Animal Photos" thread??

Cute spider. Anyone have a better link to the video?

I'm unable to watch the vid. I get an error message after the commercial, but I don't mind spiders at all. They're sorta fascinating. It's almost like they have superpowers. I'm cool with all creatures except slugs (as I've mentioned in other threads).

Spiders do not bother me at all.

Snakes on the hand bother me.

I have nightmares of running through the woods with snakes everywhere trying to bite me. I hear them hissing at me while they chase me. Then I fall into the snake-infested water and wake up.

message says the ABC has "blocked it in your [my] country on copyright grounds" but thanks for posting it

Theres an island off the coast of Brazil called Ilha de Queimada Grande where this would actually happen. Nicknamed Snake Island its home to one of the most venomous snakes, the Golden Lancehead, but not just inhabited; over run. Apparently there are places where there's one snake for every square metre. Due to the frequency of snakes the Brazilian Navy has banned people from going onto the island.

There's a story that a lighthouse keeper and his family once stayed at the islands lighthouse and during the night the snakes got in and attacked them. They fled the lighthouse, but fled into the snake infested forest where they were bitten to death. Kinda like your dream, just without Snake infested waters.

Not meaning to scare you or anything, just your post reminded me of the island.

Sorry folks. I don't know how to copy and re-upload to youtube, but if I do - you'll be the first to know!

Maybe if you do a youtube search on "Australia Backyard Killers" you'll find something viewable...
