Did you want to ask "Is mortal kombat too graphic"?

Computer games in general.

I'm sure there are other games with similar gruesome graphic.

Gore and violence just for the sake of it. Bleh. Personally, I think it's a pretty cheap way to go, but just about everyone loves that particular game, I guess it's a sign of the times. Young people are become increasingly desensitized to graphic levels of violence. I don't know who to blame, the parents or the makers of stuff like this. Whatever.

well tell tony blair ans bush they no can play no more cause

ans da rest da world gang

thankyou

These games are rated M for Mature, and they aren't sold to young kids. But parents will buy it because their kids throw shit fits. I was playing Mortal Kombat back when it hit the Arcades back in the early 90's. I didn't care much for the violence.

I'm the wrong person to ask. My interest in computer games stopped with "Pong".

ummm hard to say.

ive played very violent videogames growing up, and now i mostly just play call of duty, tho its violent, it isnt particularly gory.

irl i'm nonviolent as a person, anti-war in most cases, anti fighting in all cases, (ok well not sporting events like boxing or mma, etc) im what u could call ur typical gay boy, (tho i have "manly" interests too) so the question is what does becoming desensitized to the concept of violence do?

is it really a negative influence on individuals, or do those negative tendencies already exist in the individuals? im not sure what the answer to those questions actually are, but my gut reaction is to say that no, violence and gore in videogames is not a major source of any negative behavior in humans. but who can say for sure, even the major pillars of psycho-analysis aren't terribly concrete, let alone being able to trace specific impacts from specific stimulus like videogames or gory imagery and what specific changes they prompt in an individual's personality.

Parents faults. Tv shows, movies, and video games all get ratings for a reason. What's sad is that usually the 10 year old kid is with the mom or dad. The sales clerk will say it has a mature rating because of gun violence, suggestive and sexual themes. And the parents go "OKIES! HERE'S MY MONEY BAI-BAI :-) "

That's the reason why I don't go to game stop anymore.

The Japanese have the most gory fictional entertainment know to man.

Now look at the crime rate compared to the heavily censored U.S.

Then we talk.

I see it like this. Don't like it? Don't watch it. End of, really.

And if people playing Mortal Kombat (or any remotely fiction game for that matter) think this is normal [ie: real world behaviour], they need to see a psychiatrist because their concepts of reality are really out of whack.

I don't think that they're too graphic. But there are limits on who should play what, i.e a 7 year old shouldn't be playing Grand Theft Auto...

And as for mortal combat, their fatalities have always been extremely graphic...so this isn't anything new.
