Are "gay for pay" performers HYPOCRITES?

The critics of gay for pay argue similarly to bigots, quite frankly.

That's nice, even in our community there are stereotypes that have to be followed point blank.

I question the validity of the term "gay-for-pay." Quite frankly, I think it's fake.

A real straight man is not going to let another man touch him, let alone do some of the other things that these alleged poseurs do on video.

I could see if this were Paramount paying 10 million per picture, but I doubt that too many real hetero males could be bought for what a porn studio would offer him. I once heard from a producer of gay porn that new comers only get cut something like $250-$500 per film. It's only the established "stars" that get paid the bigger bucks, and even that isn't as much as one would expect. Hell, 99% of porn is obviously low budget, so how much can these 'actors' really be making? They're not going to pay them more than what the film costs to make itself.

Meh. "Gay-for-pay," my eye.

I think they take a bunch of overtly masculine looking & acting gay/bi/curious guys and tag them as "gay-for-pay" to market them to the gay demographic who gets off on the fantasy of "the straight man being seduced (manipulated) into man-on-man sex."

I've had past dealings with porn star, add another 1-2 zeroes to that figure. That is depending on the company.

It's an interesting discussion...but why not just watch the porn and enjoy it, and not worry about the "actor's" sexual preference....As long as they are able to turn you on, what difference does it make who they fuck in their spare time?

That being said, I agree that money can convince a lot of people to do a lot of things, but it doesn't change their sexual preferences. There are a lot of porn stars and gay strip club performers that are str8, but enjoy the money that they make in their professions and they are willing to perform as they do strictly because of the money that they can make. I've spoken with quite a few strippers in gay clubs before and they said that they worked there because the gay guys tip much, much better than the str8 women in the strip club for women down the street. Just because they want to make a better living, doesn't mean they want a man in bed with them at home...

I know of one gay for pay site that is a joke. Broke Straight Boys I don't think they are broke or straight when they appear on the covers of "The Da Vinci Load" films.

the boys on Broke Straight Boys do seem fake as hell...there was on clip with 2 guys, supposedly str8 and one's dating the other guys sister. as he's suckin him the guy filming's all like "Uh gee, how does his mouth compare to his sisters?"

Hypocrites? No it a job. Now if they after getting their paychecks start bashing gays then yes they are hypocrites.
agreed.

can't see a problem in paying/get paid for sex, as longs you don't think that said form of sex is wrong somehow.

Plus I doubt that there is many people in porn who work in it for fun.

I would have sex with a woman if I was paid enough and despite browsing the straight/bi forums, I am 100% gay.

I don't really see what the big deal is. Where you stick your dick doesn't determine your orientation.

Well said!

For the right amount of money I'd have sex with a woman. So I guess that makes me straight for pay. It would have to be quite a large sum of money.

Very informative discussion, especially inputs from ProbeTeam1.

I myself had been curious about the real sexual orientation of gay-for-pay in many sites. I admit it added to the excitement seeing straight guys doing gay sex for the first time. Later on though, everyone wanted to ride on the bandwagon. Everyone claims to be "straight" perhaps thinking it would increase their market values.

I believe though that some are really straight.
