Are Infractions ever removed from member accounts?

It's too late for me. I've been in JUB jail so many times I'm institutionalized. My body is out here, but my mind is still locked up. ](*,)

 I thought Cormac was back

I have one infraction and I wander are they ever worked away?

No, they don't. They even brought the expired ones over from the old format during the conversion this year.

Technically, they "expire" after the time burns down, so don't count like the points on drunk driving, but they keep them on your profile like The Scarlet Letter to ensure you nor the mods ever forget. It's useful if you ever commit again, 'cuz it's not like evidence the judge can order the jury not to consider.

Just think of it as your badass cred.

You only know when you have received an infraction...other than reading 'Banned' under someone's name.

I take my infractions out and polish them once in awhile.

They are all precious to me.

I need an exorcist, I think mine have become sentient. :(

The only way to have an infraction removed is to do a cam job with one of the mods, and some of those guys are into some fucked up shit. I was banned permanently a couple years ago and in order to get back on I had to dress like Anne Frank and masturbate with a turkey neck while singing Tony Bennett songs in the voice of Geddy Lee.

Otherwise you're basically screwed. Jub shares your record of infractions here with your bank, your employer, and your local police precinct so good luck ever trying to buy a house or apply for a loan. You can, however, still run for public office.

They know better with me! I'll eat two dozen deviled eggs and storm the JUB headquarters

What kinds of things give someone an infraction?

How does one know who has received an infraction?

The mod lodges a notice in your profile that you see when you go into it. It is not visible to other members outside JUB staff and mods. They look like this:

When you click one, it expands to essentially nothing, as apparently mods are not required to provide the "exact nature" that the software refers to by default:

The presumption is that the Code of Conduct has been violated, either abusing another JUB member in various ways, spamming the forum, posting underage pics or scat or frontal nudity in forums where it is banned, posting hate speech, and several other taboos.

But, the fun part is the youthful aspect of it all. Instead of explicitly stating the violation, citing it, quoting it, or anything like that, your posts just disappear, all of the post usually, not the offending portion, and you get a generic warning with a point infraction in your Inbox, generically referring you to the Code of Conduct, the internet form of sesnding you to sit in the corner and think about your sins.

the Code of Conduct has been violated
In the previous software, you should have received a Private Message with each warning or infraction. If you did not delete them, those messages should still be available in your conversations. I've detailed the explanations communicated to you with those 2 warnings and your subsequent infraction below.

Code of Conduct
9. Please do not harass, threaten, stalk, spam, or otherwise abuse other users.

July 2018

repeated use personal insults in the place of constructive engagement

December 2020

expanding a disagreement from one discussion to another; CE&P

December 2020

abusive conduct; multiple direct personal insults and demeaning characterization with excessive baiting

I don't recall getting detailed notices, but they nonetheless were not viewable below in the notes where they are referenced in the warnings.

And my observations remain about the lack of citing or explaining what was deemed in violation.

The adjudication is and has been cryptic, which contributes to its general impression among the members as arbitrary or capricious.

If you're recommending going to a mod forum for "problem resolution" when the center of the problem was the relation of moderation to posting in other abusing members, no, I can't endorse that to a member.

The thread you cite is closed.

Dictums aren't resolution. They're just dictums.
