Used to think so but have heard from people that most are straight and have married and have kids-----What do you think?

I have some friends who are male gymnasts and they're straight as can be.

I guess it's weird, because straight guys aren't supposed to be bendy like that.

Probably just one of those "gay by association" things. Like...figure skating. Or colorguard.

...ya, because we need to feed into and enforce the stereotypes

Don't know. Many interviewed seem to have higher voices, seem to give off a vibe....like figure skating,it's not considered by many a "masculine" sport, though its exciting to watch and involves lots of intrinsic technical skills...I love it.I just enjoy the inmdividual and team efforts and yes,if they are hot, will look to that as well.If any are gay, that's a bonus...I'm never likely getting with one, same as a hot team sports figure, actor or musical performer,so it isn't the most pressing concern in my life, and they do have a right to privacy in their sex life.

I always hope so, (and divers as well!) but in reality I guess just a normal percentage are gay. Unfortunatly.

I don't know for sure; but I suspect that MOST male gymnasts are gay!

I've been around this planet for a few years and from watching all these years, I have trouble finding many straight men!

I think also the same holds true with male figure skaters... The exceptions being the married men/women who are couples skating.

Now we have to consider the male swimmers and figure out their sexuality! lol

Heck, I think these guys and gals who train so hard for these sports should be congratulated for ALL the hard work they do to maintain that level of expertise!!

Frankly, I could care less about their sexuality; but just to answer your question for this threads sake! lol

I do enjoy watching these events in the olympics!(*8*) (*8*)

I trained acrobatics from age 7 to 12. I had a so called "partner". He was so gorgeous, i think he was my first love (although I didn't realize that back then).

I felt strong attraction for him but I didn't know what to make of it, I was too young. And i had a gf back then LOL. Yeah, in 5-th grade LOL. He definitely wasn't gay, he was 7 years older and had a gf too, now when I look back at that time I can say i was sooooooooooo jelous of her.

Some gymnastics routines are kinda girly, particularly tumbling (though not as girly as it would be if they were allowed to use ribbon-sticks); but the only thing you can say about most gymnasts is that they're short. The high voices usually goes with the fact that these are some really tiny guys.

I think athletes are probably gay in the same proportion as the rest of the population. Maybe a little less, truth be told. We're such delicate flowers, you know.

Reminder: wives and children, as we all well know, are no guarantee of heterosexuality. Ask any of the guys on this board with wives and children in their pasts and presents.

Thats exactly what I was going to say! Hee-Hee. Just ask me......

By the way love the pictures you are now adding to your posts!!

Seems a bit sterotypical to me. I magine it's the same as other sports

I don't think they are. The moves are feminine (except for the rings) but their bodies are not!

Some are gay, some are bi and some are straight, just like in every other profession or aspect of life.

Btw, I did practise gymnastics when I was a kid, but I don´t have that body thou

i was a male gymnast for 10 years and...IM GAY! the guy that I am really into used to be on my team and is now a diver. man I hope he is gay but he has a girlfriend at the moment....(there is more backstory to this guy that I posted in another thread.... http://justusboys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151534 )

I have to admit it was always nice to be hanging out with tons of hot buff guys for 30 hours a week...glistening with sweat....;) but I am pretty sure that it is a misguided stereotype that most of them are gay

last year i fractured my spine in 5 places and had to quit 3 weeks before the national championships...:( there went my recruitment opportunity

I don't think so. They seem pretty straight. You can never tell. Like in every profession there is someone gay or have gay tendencies.

That's like asking if most male skaters are gay. Well if Kurt Browning can be straight, there's just no justice in the world.

But then I happen to have a great track record of meeting guys in stereotypical gay professions who are all straight:

photographers, visual artists, skaters, dancers, actors, classical singers...

Gymnasts don't get the credit they deserve. Gymnastics requires strength and flexibility I would argue other athletes lack. As for them being gay, I doubt it differs much from other sports.

I knew a gymnast in high school who was really homophobic. He wouldnt even be in the same room with someone he thought was gay. Its a shame cus he looked pretty good. He even turned down a modeling contract because he was afraid of all the gay guys in the industry.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. I've always thought gymnasts were the hottest guys on the planet, but alas they're no more likely to be gay than the average person.

In my next life, I will be an Olympic gymnast. That's my goal, anyway. That's why I'm trying to be very, very good in this life: to save up the necessary karma points to buy that next life?

What do you mean, samsara isn't a fantasy roleplaying game? Nonsense. !oops!
