Are overweight gays shunned at Pride?

How? Is someone rude to them? Are the ridiculed? HOW?

Part of pride (at least where I'm at) is heavily visual. If you don't fit a particular demographic in the expected manner (For instance, if you're fat but little-to-no hair, or heavy and androgynous, ect ect) then you don't get to be in the handful of groups where being heavy is seen as a neutral (or possibly positive, depending on who you ask) thing. If you're not in the handful of body types getting paraded across the screen you tend to get dismissed. And quite a bit of nasty insults from lgbt strangers, depending on where you're at.

The reason straight guys are fearful of gay guys is because they don't want to be looked at the way they look at/treat women. The offshoot of that is weight. Gay guys of a lot of stripes have no issue insulting a gay man as they would a woman about her weight. Because they expect other gay guys to be there purely for their objectification purposes - just like women are for straight men.

You could also type in the word 'fat' in jub's search engine - There's definitely examples on the board here of such behavior. I can't remember how far back the search engine goes, tho, so that might be an issue.

It just sounds like club behavior to me, which is why that supposed "fun" has never appealed to me. I was through with mob cruelty when I left high school, and I'd never tolerate it nor endorse it by frequenting a place that was based on it.

Too many gay venues that are meetup sites are meatup sites, but not all.

Aye, but pride is also definitely a type of Meatup site. At least judging by the amount of half-naked men and various entertainment.

That's not true at all.

First and foremost, this thread the OP asked, are overweight or fat guys shunned at pride. In my opinion, if anything, they are embraced as there are more groups and cultures at pride that are celebrated more (bears, chubs, leather, kink, etc.) towards guys on the larger side.

Second, "fat with little to no hair"? Most of the bears I have seen were bald or had receding hairlines. It's typical for a guy who is larger and older (most bears are older), to be bald or have thinning hair.

"Heavy and androgynous." You would still be considered a bear or a chub or something along those lines. If you have long hair, long nails, a flamboyant image, you would still be considered a bear. You just fucking told me that size has nothing to do with femininity, now you are contradicting yourself? lol.

You don't have to look like those guys in gay bathhouse ads to be embraced. You do have to be somewhat masculine to get the best results though.. Stop believing all that shit. All of that is garbage of bullshit.

That's not true either.

Straight guys are fearful of gays due to femininity and masculinity barriers, and the fear of breaking or testing their manhood.

Straight guys subconsciously believe being gay is contagious and it's a group or culture that are trying recruit and grab others, and "catching the gay". Them associating themselves with gay men, will make him gay and have homosexual thoughts. In turn, the fear of others might assuming he's a fag hag or fag lover, something that does exist and many straight guys have issues with.

Straight men also don't get homo eroticism usually. Which is why many won't say MMA or UFC isn't gay when it clearly is, double penetration straight porn isn't gay, when it clearly is, and doing gay for pay porn isn't gay, when it clearly is. So when they see gay guys trying to flirt or attempt to be infatuated by them, they get confused and uncomfortable as this is something they cannot be in simpatico with or understand. Thus causing friction.

One final reason is that men are just naturally designed to be drawn to females and help damsels in distress. They are not designed to connect with freaks of nature have you and other men.

A straight guy will be cordial in front a gay mans face usually. Refraining from being disrespectful, but still being careful at the amount of friendly affection he gives. But the minute he walks away, he will dog him out to his other straight guy buddies like nobody's business, and gossip and bitch at him like he were a freakishly stature woman.

The part I do slightly agree with you, is that yes men are dogs in general. That includes gay men. We are constantly thinking about sex and all of that good stuff. So straight men possibly see a gay man as worse. He's not only a man that thinks of sex, but he's also probably thinking of having sex with me, so I kinda slightly agree with you on that, but it goes deeper than that.

I don't get that last part of weight at all.

With that, gay guys who are fat and masculine and muscle bound and gym rats and heavier are hard to decipher and tell usually. I think they put on this masquerade for the soliloquy I gave in the previous paragraphs.

There's a whole forum for guys in that category on this site, what the hell are you talking about?

@Taralen,

Must you derail threads that don't center you? Your spirit of disbelief isn't anyone's problem but your own.

ps; your last question is why things are considered fetishes. A fetish is not generic acceptance. Generic acceptance is not insulting someone's weight because you don't want to fuck them.

Go do your own research, part of which involves not insisting there isn't an issue just .....because. This is probably not the thread where you get to argue about whether someone exists, or whether someone else's Feminine & Fat experiences exist. At the very least it's damned inconsiderate.

And if you can't tell the difference between acceptance and fetishizing you have more important things to worry about than whether someone else is 'legitimately feminine' or not.

I lure them all back to my hotel room with Cheetos.

It depends. For example, on French gay clubs (especially on provinces), if a group of fats come to a club, they can't go in. They need to be with 2 beautiful Calvin Klein models or at least 2 skinny gays, fems or not (skinny fems can go in without a problem). I'm fat and I have done it numerous time.
During the gay pride, if you're fat you can't go up on a float if it's not only a float for fats. And they told you "Sorry, abs only bitches!".

Well, I guess coltonblack500 has an answer to his question.

Like any pageant, the pretty, skinny ones in revealing outfits get pushed to front the centre.

That's TERRIBLE.

Then again, knowing they are pricks, it would put a damper on me WANTING to be seen with them. And if the parade is consistently that way, it should be outed in the press that way and the event appropriately tarnished. The whole inclusion message becomes nullified, and should, if it is not about inclusion.

There are rude people in all body types or shapes.
I'm sure fats are no angles. Same with the skinny types.

Not everyone can be a Hotie that does not mean you have to be mean to them thee are enough people on earth that hate us we should not be mean!
