I was taking to my god father yesterday, and the subject of my personality came up. We were talking about my dry sense of humor and sometimes mean tendencies, etc but he said something that really made me think and actually hurt my feelings a little (this is an extraordinarily rare occurrence). He said, and I quote, "But, surprisingly, despite your slutty tendencies you're not a bad person." I asked him what he meant and he said most "sluts" (he used the quote fingers) are just using people and tossing them aside without giving a shit about their feelings and something like that normally reflects on your personality and your actions. I had to admit that, yes, I do use people for sex (he should know) but I make it quite clear before we get anything done that no sort of relationship will come of it because, to me, sex is a past time like playing a sport for fun. When I said that he just shrugged his shoulders and smiled and went back to packing. But it really got me thinking, am I (or other people like me) a bad person because of my, shall we say, ample amount of sexual dalliances?

No, we are good people. We are satisfying the sex partners' needs as well as our own. So, we both win.

No, I am a slut myself and I know a still harder slut than me and he was the only guy helping an epileptic guy out in a backroom.

aint they what folk wears of salmon fishins ups countrys fancys?

What's the definition of a slut? Someone who has more sex than you. That doesn't make sluts bad people.

If everyone's being honest and safe, absolutely not!

If you're single and the others that you are with are consenting, then I don't see how it's "bad."

The fault I see in your god fathers thinking is that sluts are only taking...

I'm not too sure how old he is -- but maybe he forgot that they are ALSO giving...

:):):)

Why does your uncle know? Do you sleep with your uncle?

And I don't know why... But I'm very anti-slut.

I don't mind a degree of promiscuity, but when I'm 20 years old with only about 4 or 5 notches on my bedpost, socialising with people who've more than 30 I do respect them less and think less of them.

EDIT: Uncle, god father, whoever you were talking to.

Far too late in life we learn that what other people think of us doesn't mean shit.

What we think of ourselves means everything.

If you think having sex just for fun makes you a bad person, then it does.

I have nothing against sluts as long as they are not breaking up couples and play safe. They tend not to make good, long-term companions but oh well.

When I came out six years ago this month, it had been some time since I had had sex. I was married (to a woman) and it had been three years of celibacy. I had longed to be with a man for many years and so I rather enjoyed many different ones! lol!

Did it make me a bad person? I don't think so. I was both finding out what I would ultimately desire as well as sowing a lot of wild oats. Along the way I met many great guys with whom I remain friends and learned about myself; and I certainly enjoyed it as well!

Fortunately my hubby has a high sex drive....
