Re: Any Charmed Fans? - Who misses Prue?

I loved season 1-4 of Charmed, Prue was my favorite in these seasons. But it started to go downhill after Prue died. Ever since Rose Mcgowan aka Paige was introduced it just seemed like the sisters were more interested in what clothes and make-up they were wearing instead of saving the world. I think the only good thing about Shannon leaving was the individual sisters had more balanced storylines on their own instead of all the focus on Prue.

I adore Piper though; she was hilarious when she was moody.

Re: Any Charmed Fans? - Who misses Prue?

The show jumped the shark once Prue died.

Actually the shows ratings actually increased in season 4. (The first year after she died). It began to drop at the end of Season 5. I think where it lost sight of its purpose on a whole was probably the last few eps of season 6. And seasons 7 and 8 were pretty bad. But for me it doesnt tip the scale.

Charmed has been through a lot. It lost a main character 3 years in. Its had its series creator phased out by Brad Kern 4 years into it (she was removed from producer at the end of season 2). Its been a victim of serious budget cuts which means, less special effects and has had an impact on the show (when phoebe loses her active powers its becasue they couldnt afford it), and couldnt afford new writers.

Charmed had been through every hurdle imaginable and it was still still standing. I give it credit for at least that. And the good years can never be outwayed, and i refuse to judge the show on the last two years, over the show as a whole.

Really i never found that it centred on Prue, and if it did i didnt mind. I just feel like she had a Job that just saw more action than pipers. I mean Phoebe started the whole thing, the first 2 seasons were about her magical misfits and getting into trouble. Piper had Leo, Dan in season 2. Prue had Andy, and the Hannah and Rex thing for a while. If you ask me i think it balanced it fine.

Season 3 took a turn for Phoebe and Cole forever. But it just goes to show even if the sisters storylines were more balanced it didnt really help much with the quality of the show.

Re: Any Charmed Fans? - Who misses Prue?

Despite what ratings say, a show can still jump the shark.

Re: Any Charmed Fans? - Who misses Prue?

I watched the first season and parts of the second. Season six with Drew Fuller made me fall back in love with the show. Once he left at the end of season 6 I forgot all about that show for the most part until I saw Jason Lewis. Then I missed few episodes and he was gone. I haven't really watched it since. Not actively anyway.

Well i'm just saying that all those financial and creative factors had an influence in its decline. Half the time the Wb was telling them they wanted this out of the show, thusly it was moulded unfairly not by the producers completely, but becasue of the influence of the WB.

That is why i think a novel is such a great idea. You dont need anyone elses opinion, you can do whatever you want without having to worry about a budget. It is a perfect canvas. And i know he is not a novelist, but i'd even settle for a script you know, printed in the magazine or just released. I just want to try anyway, just for Prues character. If nothing happens then i guess thats too bad, but i want to fight for her one last time.

Re: Any Charmed Fans? - Who misses Prue?

Seasons 1-3 were great, and the 4th was OK, but after Prue died the show started going downhill. Not just because it was Prue-less, the storylines also became way to soapy and I somehow felt like the characters were too fake, don't really know how to explain it, it was like it was too obvious that it was a TV show, like they put more effort in their wardrobe than in the script and rehearsing.

Re: Any Charmed Fans? - Who misses Prue?

Can i just say from what i have seen of charmed that piper having kids really wieghed the show down , as did everything with piper after prue left , thank gawd for paige lol

Re: Questions about Charmed

You could always use the internet. There are several, several TV sites as well as fan sites that list the episode titles and the plot lines so you can identify them.

Re: Questions about Charmed

Well, I remember the one where they became gods, it was called "Oh My Goddess", parts I + II.

And I know the others too but I can't remember the names...I never forget anything, though . It'll pop into my head out of the blue at some random point. I'll tell ya when I remember ! ;)

Re: Questions about Charmed

...Oh, and the ones with the Valkyries was I think the first one of season 6 . Or 5. But I'm almost sure it's season 6 .

Re: Questions about Charmed

I just saw the episode that Phoebe turned black and white. I am trying so hard to remember it!!

I know she was turning black and white because she was afraid she wouldn't be the "perfect wife" for Cole. She was wearing her Gram's ring and Piper and Leo were dealing with somoe kid.....i cant remember.

He was a firestarter! Looked it up on the internet, that episode is called Lost and Bound! Its the tenth episode of Season 4

Re: Questions about Charmed

when did they become titans??
I remember that they become greek goddess or something at somepoint.

what are the fairytales that they turn in too, I remember that one was snowwhite...

Re: Questions about Charmed

They didn't become Titans, they became Goddesses, and yes... that was "Oh My Goddess, Pt. 1 & 2)" and those two episodes were the last of season 5.

Also, the Valkery episode was the Season 6 premiere.

The episode where Phoebe turns black-and-white is called "Lost and Bound," and is Season 4, Episode 12.

The Fairy Tale episode is called "Happily Ever After," and is Season 5, Episode 3.

The one of the Incubus I could neither recall nor find.

Hope this helps :-)

Re: Questions about Charmed

ok, I love watching this show a lot, but I don't watch it religiously. so there are some episodes that I watched, but forgotten what the title is but I wanna see it real bad again.
What is that episode where
*the sisters became fairy tale
*they became valkyrie
*they became titans
*phoebe turned black&white

Fairy Tale = Happily Ever After i think its episode 3 of Season 5.

Valkyrie = Vallhalley of The Dolls (Season 6 episodes 1 and 2)

Titans = Oh My Goddess (Last 2 epsiodes of Season 5)

Phoebe turning Black and White = Lost And Bound (It is in Season 4 , the episode before they vanquish the source.)

All the eps you've mentioned are really good.

Re: Questions about Charmed

Oh the incubbus (You mean succubus) is in Season 2 called "she's a man baby, a man!" Where Prue gets turned into man right?

God bless Prudence.

Re: Piper from Charmed.

well, it's a TV show.

also, i think it was called molecular deceleration in one of the season 3 episodes.. she just slows the molecules down. i think thats how it worked when she froze a big scene or something, i haven't seen the show in awhile, so i don't really remember..

it is just a TV show though..
