i admit i am slightly effeminate... i'm not all that different from most guys... it takes a long time for me to really come off of femmy... and is mostly when i'm around girls that i go a little femmy... sometimes straight guys (depending on the guy) but for butch... not so much like grr i'm butch...
but yes there are plenty of butch gay guys... i actually prefer butch guys....

Here.. This is a video of my motorcycle club taking a trip to Kernville.

This is the kind of gay men I ride and hang with.

awesomeness! (the jealousy of troy grows :p )

dear doctor laura:

The tractor that i use to haul around railroad ties and pallets of sod and #57 granite at work musses my hair terribly, and the fluorescent orange really clashes with my greyish green uniform. does this mean i'm nelly?

I consider myself neither butch nor femme, nor would I label myself.
I'm just me..and if anyone wants to call that something, fine.

I don't really label myself either because I personally tend to have some characteristics of both "qualities". I guess that makes me a balanced gay man! :D

and yes, I have some "gay acting" friends and some not gay acting friends.

my favorite part of that video is me and my BF kissing each other.

Yep I also loved the kissing part. Hot! *|*

Butch sounds intimidating to me and intimidation is not a good characteristic to have. I'm not butch but I'm not effeminate. I'm just... me.

HAHA

I wish you were posting more around these parts

that sort of captures the whole gay thing

I think we are all prone to nelly attacks and that includes straight men. I guess we just assign certain characteristics and gestures to the fenimine state, and the truth is that we are all individuals and no sex or sexuality can claim dibs on a certain affectation.

Well ok... some of us are quite bubbly in a femmy sort of way, and while i honestly am not really turned on by that extreme or the ultra butch types either, I have to say that they can be endearing if it doesnt seem like a phony put on.

Fakers and posers are far more annoying than the ultra nelly or ultra butch of our community anyday.

there are a lot of them around you but unless you're like them (i.e. BUTCH), most likely, you won't get to know that they also like guys or they won't let you (if u're not 'butch')know that because most of them prefer guys like them cuz they would like to stay INSIDE the closet...

Approximately 90% of men with whom I've gotten intimate were all really masculine - athletic, virile, and really hetero-looking, about 50% of them believed they were straight, 40% thought of themselves as bisexuals, the remaining 10% were not so masculine but (these guys that comprise the 10%) were 'all butched up' when they hit on me...it's funny how some gay peeps butch up just to be able to sleep with a homomasculine dude...then u'll be surprised (and get turned off) when u see the metamorphosis. well, i can't blame them, i think most gays and bisexual men prefer the masculine type, I myself prefer the thuggish, sporty blokes...don't you? so i guess, for some, butching up is just like applyng make up or anything that will make one look more attractive and shagadelic...

I don't know about straight acting. The majority of gay men I know are... men... and it's not an act.

Some of them will sometimes act like stereotypical gays, but it's an act.

There are a few that are truly effeminite, just like the gay stereotypes, and that's cool too... but they are in the minority.
