So is arteriosclerosis.

Which is genetic, and only a tiny portion of your cholesterol comes from food. It's mostly synthesized in your liver. By the way, there are many plant sources of dietary LDL as well, e.g. avocados, coconuts. Not all meat is fatty either.

Haha. Them statin drug companies getting rich off those evil vegans and vegetarians.

Congratulations. Do you want a prize for being in the extreme minority of carnivores that do their own dirty work?

How do Ohio vegetable farmers plow up the fields without maiming and killing animals by the thousands?

Do the farmers ever use stuff like insecticides and mousetraps?

Do the grain silo keepers let the rats have first choice of the goods and let them nest in the silos, or do they trap and kill the cute little critters?

Does Ohio have agencies that tend to the relocating of all the little critters (worms, field mice, birds, groundhogs, and such) before fields and woods are cleared and the grocery stores go up and the fields get paved over? Of course the road crews would have to do the same for you to get to the stores, too.

Lots of 'dirty work' there, too, I guess. I hope you're doing your part.

Have you ever thought about giving Ohio back to the American bison? What about reintroducing timber wolves, coyotes, bobcats, etc.? The whitetail deer and rabbits must not be much of a nuisance to Ohio farmers, right?

Sure, all the time. Right after I singlehandedly build an ark and fill it with every specie of animal to protect them. For all those things surely equate with simply giving up meat in your diet. And the vegans are the "extreme" ones. . .

Meat eating is part of nature you know?

Some theorize that eating meat is the only way we could have developed our large brain – that we don't [still] have a brain the size of a chimp's.

They say that our large brain is our hungriest organ and that it uses about ¼ of our daily calorie intake.

How can you have any pudding, if you don't eat your meat???

I guess that would depend on the prize.....what did you have in mind?

I also grow the majority of my own fruits and vegetables.....organically.

Keep your holier than thou attitude to yourself. You realize that every time you purchase produce from the grocers you're adding to the chemical destruction of our food production acreage,....right? But you don't go out and actually work the fields, tilling, fertilizing, spraying poison, so you're morally superior.

As you should you do yourself.

I never said anything negative about vegetarians, if it makes people happy to have a plant based diet...go for it. But when you start telling others they're wrong because they don't become herbivores you've crossed a line.

I would say telling a vegetarian that you like animals "cooked right" is negative. This thread was started on the basis of making fun of someones beliefs/lifestyle choice. I cannot see why someone would make fun of someones beliefs or lifestyle choice unless they saw themselves superior enough in their own beliefs to do so.

Yes. True vegetarians are evil mutants who can survive without enough proteins in their diet.

Keep your holier than thou attitude to yourself.
Sorry if that is the impression I gave you. Although the grass is always greener; so you give the same impression to me. And I never realized I needed to hold everybody's hand by stating the obvious that there of course will always be the minority exception of people who produce and slaughter their own food; extreme minority in the U.S. especially. I was speaking of the status quo. If carnivores are so secure in their eating habits, I am amazed by how easily they feel threatened and offended by veg heads.

^I think it's largely for the reason the cut/uncut issue is such a hot button - one side always assumes an attitude of smug superiority which pisses the others off.

And next thing you know you get a package of chicken bones on your doorstep.

Bingo! If I got defensive on the previous page it is because, as a vegan, you are questioned constantly by others why you do it or they think for some reason they can tempt you with things like bacon. It gets really tiresome and most of the time it's people I like asking and you don't want to be a jerk and go on about all the moral reasons why you became vegan. But sometimes, if I am in a feed up mood or whatever I will let people know why I did it and it's normally then people switch over to say "oh you vegans are all so militant" like it is what they wanted to here.
