My teacher once told me that we're in some degree attracted to aggressive people.
Aggressive people get more attention and access to expand themselves positively/negatively

A child inherits aggressive nature not from his parent but from innate self. Lord of the flies although fictional but it's not too unrealistic to depict human nature: We're born aggressive.

When we grace teenage years, we're scramble to gain power, survival autonomy among our peers. The process happens naturally. Some our folks better than other (class president, jocks, cheerleaders) despite our generation gap, the pattern still the same.

Our train of thoughts, social codes and media also somewhat appear aggressively. There is no place for meek, shy person in the club. It's either you nail it or out.

One thing could counter balance our aggressive nature is courtesy and community value-thing...I'm not sure how to describe this.^^

It's like "PBS brought to you by the viewers like you", volunteer workers, social workers, public library, public park. When you walk out there, there always safe non-aggressive haven for people like you and I.

But the guys from The Fight club hates convenience and consumerism. If we know where to explore, there are unregistered fight clubs all around the world..
when people can lash out just hit and punch someone in the face without consequences.

That makes society seem hypocrite to me. I think we're very passive aggresive, dont you think?

Born with silver spoon (feudal kid), I thought the world is safe and pastel colored looking.
I blamed Curious George to alter my reality view as super friendly, loving and full of ease

Damn that monkey! :grrr:

I love convenience soo much! As I grow up, I realize the world...is a game man..

and Im running out of time like the rest of late 80's generation. Of course, unless you're a Mark Zul.

Yeah, thought for today...

well, i don't see anything wrong with being aggressive when it comes to being a go getter. that is how you get to places. sitting back and keeping it cool like how i'm doing right now will not get you anywhere. it's a competitive society so you have to compete. hell, it's not just with people. it's also with yourself as well. sometimes you have to be aggressive with yourself in order to meet your goals or to do something. for example, practice and learning something. if you want to be a good writer, learn how to play a guitar, or master whatever, you have to push yourself. you may have to do it everyday, you might take years, or even a lifetime to reach that goal but once you get there, you're there. yeah, starting something is a bitch but when you get the hang of something, keep on going with it, it'll become nothing but second hand nature. you may have to tweak a few things but you'll doing it in no time. you'll be a stronger person. if you're passive where you pretty much have an attitude which is like "i'll do it tomorrow or when i feel like it", you'll pretty much end up in a position where you're assed out. you can be a genius and still be a failure because you're not aggressive enough. it's not about what you know. it's about what you do.

an aggressive person will be better off than a passive person is. someone that is ready to be on the move and pull the trigger will make it further along in life than someone who stands still and hesitants to do something.

with that said, i need to be more aggressive towards myself in reaching my goals. i've applied this to going to the gym and writing and even masturbating. now i have to use the same mentality for jobs and etc. you know, it's looks easy to do but it's hard to put into practice. being lazy will get you nowhere but here typing on the computer all day looking like a bum ass loser. i have a college degree and no job to show for it yet but by the end of this year, i'm going to have a damn career job. fuck this.

i also want to play my guitar and get my turntables scratching or whatever. see, i've been THAT lazy. i could have been a fucking guitar player or a damn dj for parties if i wanted to be but that's what happens when you are not aggressive.

with that said, an aggressive society should motivate you to be a better person or you should learn something from it. i think you're more likely to succeed in somewhere like america where you can elevate yourself to a millionaire or whatever than somewhere like cuba or china where you pretty much are the same status whether you're a doctor or a streetsweeper. the flipside of that though is that you'll see the ugly side of human nature towards that where you hear about senseless violence and cutthroat behavior going on.

It's to act "civil" doh!#-o A slow English day ckk ckk ^^

One more thing: Have you ever feels like the elderly has similarities with toddler? They're less aggressive, more affectionate, dependent, playful? My dad used to work at nursing home and when I visited him, I get a notion that sometimes they're acting like children and those nurse are workers slash care givers.
It's not a new thing, you know what I mean ^^

Elderly people have their aggressive meter lessen up according to their age-vitality. Just thinking, the sun scorching heat is always from the morning to 12 noon (20 something) the sun subtly losing its heat every hour passes. Our timeline is like that.
They're might be cranky and senile old people-type but not as dangerous as young "free" man in early 20s. Unless they're someone prominent, intellectual-political figure who can kill someone by a snap of finger, elderly usually don't shake or move things too much.

I don't think the elderly are the most wiser just because they're more keen and calm down by experience. The youth also have their wisdom (although slightly naive) they're the bringer of new ideas, new resolution. Both elderly and youths must learn from each other.

Honestly, I'm so mesmerized and surprised with my little sister. She's like a baby to me but where the hell she learned self-defense/ self-resiliency while she raised by our conservative naysayers family? My mom and her is like cat and dog, they're clashing XD

^^ No comment means no trouble. I'm glad that I wrote things everybody agree. :D

I like the way you compare human timeline with the sunrise to sunset timeline.
It make sense to me. :D

My time is running away from me so fast ...

Ask the Native Americans.

the native americans weren't saints either. weren't they fighting each other over land too? it's that the europeans that technology on their side as well as diseases.

Joswan, as Americans, our country was founded on bloodshed. We were the only colony of the British Empire to actually fight for independence. Look at Canada, Australia, South Africa and to a lesser extent, India. How many still celebrate the Queen's birthday? A little history goes a LONG way. Reckon I don't exactly approve of our current military aggression and Zionism but that's another story for another time.

Native Americans did have internal conflict within their tribes as well as amoung different tribes but they never committed a genocide like the Trail of Tears. That's not just aggressive but malignant, inhumane, & vicious.

yeah, those europeans were and if you ask me still are some ruthless, cold blooded, sociopathic ass motherfuckers. only in america will people try to rationalize the evil that happened in the past and the present and say that there was a good reason behind that shit such as the dropping of the atomic bomb on japan. good thing i don't have that blood running through my veins. i know i couldn't live with myself if i did what those people have done and they are calling other people animals and acting like their shit don't stink. funny. i feel sorry for all those evil ass people though. glad i'm not them.

You can't say that because you didn't live in that era.

1 - Aggression is a personality trait.

2 - Personality is not inherited. It develops as an individual grows.

Not necessarily. There have been studies that have shown that aggressive tendencies can be genetic just like depression can be. I'm not sure either way, but I don't think it's so cut and dry.

just exactly who and what are you talking about when you say Europeans..?

lol. europeans as in white europeans. not saying all white europeans but i have to say that a lot of fucked up things in history happened because of white europeans. the crusades, the slave trade, colonization, etc. just to name a few. the thing that is scary is how its all justified even when it's basically just some cold blooded, evil shit.

I see that you edited your post...not quickly enough, though

^ this is the original version..the part I've bolded is rather interesting

tells me a lot about you

thanks for responding...your answer speaks volumes

i would like for you to argue against my point. lol @ you thinking that i'm talking about you directly. of course, i know you have nothing to do with what happened in the past.

why?

it serves no purpose, in my opinion, it's dead history

I believe carrying grudges for things that happened hundreds of years ago is not going to help anyone

time for mankind to move on and work towards a better future

and besides, it's rather late for me..4:14AM

well, i respect your opinion and all but i disagree wholeheartedly with that. it's easy to say that history is dead but the past actually has a major part about what is going on in today's world. yeah, it's easy to say that mankind needs to move forward and work towards a better future but it's easier said than done. the same attitudes that have led to the evils that have happened in the past are STILL around today. one of those attitudes which we are directly caught up in is religion, particularly christianity and how it's being shoved down all of our throats. about 10 years ago, religion was played a major part in the us invading iraq and afganistan in the "war against terror". george bush manipulated the general public and did what would be considered a modern version of the crusades by pushing a war against islam. one of the things that happened in the past was how religion was intermingled with the affairs of the state which occurred in the crusades and even the building of this country during colonization where all these church groups like the puritians made laws tied to their religious beliefs. this history repeats itself whenever the defense of marriage act (doma), proposition 8, gay sex and gay marriage in general is mentioned where opponents use christianity as their reasons to practice discrimination. religion or christianity has been used to justify discrimination against blacks, women, and other groups that have been opposed in society as well.

so no, history is far from dead. in order for us to move forward, people have to know about the atrocities that happened in the past and why in order for them to learn from the mistakes that taken place from the generations that came before them.
