Hispanic is a misused word. Mexicans are not neccessarily Hispanic. They are Latino. Hispanic means that they identify with Spain, the mother-country. But they don't. That would be like Americans being called Anglos. Just because England is the mother country of the United States, doesnt mean the people have any connection to it or identify with it's culture. And thats why Most Latin Americans are NOT Hispanic. just fyi

Well FYI, there is no such thing as Latinos, people from Latin America are from various ethnic backgrounds. For example, my ancestry is pure Spanish, with a little French (but I do identify with the US culture), but there are also people with African or Native culture.
