I need to ask these questions: Are we too bianry when it comes to male sexuality and are we conditioned to be blind to amle allies and those comfortable with their sexuality?
Why I ask is that in the Male Celebrity Forum there is always a strong debate about a guys sexuality and most of the time and I find myself guilty of doing it too we argue that the are gay or straight. But sexuality has a large spectrum if you want start at straight and end with gay. But there are other things like queer, fluid, pan, bi etc. Why oh why do we always go oh he likes cock. Why can't he like both? Why can't he like people? Why can't he be fluid in his choice?
I also wonder are some of us too old to actually see a generation of people grow up seeing LGBT+ people in a positive light, have more family members who are LGBT+, friends who are etc? Therefore are we blind to straight male allies or even someone comfortable in their sexuality that they can innocently flirt with their gay friends, go on a night out with them etc? Should we not embrace and celebrate diversity within the human community? Are we vilifying heterosexuality? Can't it not be diverse and have men that don't fit the definition of straight male? Surely we gay men all differ too. I'm femme in mannerism and voice tone but I love sports and can get as aggressive as the next guy, but am hopeless with my hands and have I couldn't dress or comment how a female friend looks.
Basically the point of this is simply to ask these questions and make an observation or two. I don't have answers but I hope it inspires people who read it to think. I hope anyone who may comment or reads this takes it the way it is meant. I don't want to start a fight with anyone.
