Not sure if that's 100% fair.
I mean, I ride my motorcycle in the gay parades every year, but I do it because it's fun, and to attract more gay men to motorcycle riding.
Ok. It was a generalization. My bad.

But I do wish we lived in a world where people wouldn't need to make a big deal about it.

A big deal?

When they ask me what I did for the weekend and I answer honestly apparently I'm making a big deal?

When I kiss my BF goodbye at the airport apparently I'm the one making a big deal??

No, I'll march in protests and parades and so forth to prove that I am the hets next door neighbour, friend, professional etc and that I'm no threat to their "normal lives".

And then when they can stop making a big deal and just recognize my basic human rights, then I'll stop.

Yeah dude. What I meant was, I wish we lived in a world where you didn't have to make these points at all. Why should two men together be a big deal, is my point.

Peace.

well, that's going to have to work two ways.

Straight people will have to stop putting pictures of their spouses on their desks and "flaunting" it.

When they get married, they have to stop parading through the streets and decorating their cars and honking their horns and wearing those big, loud, ugly dresses.

They'll have to stop wearing their wedding rings to announce their sexual orientation.

They'll have to stop having a year's worth of parties and showers before and after.

I mean, do they HAVE to make such a big deal out of it?

Goldstar gay but retired on my laurels. :-)

Lots of proud Goldstar guys here.

wish I was one.

I feel bad for the girls I lead on when I was younger.

It was totally unfair of me to use them to hide behind... people are people.. not furniture.

I'm very glad a younger generation of gay men are growing up knowing just who and what they are and being it without shame.

Makes me feel good.
