  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are you a good person?

Internally, everyone has good and bad in them. Balance is where you find love. If you deny one side of yourself, it comes to you for more attention and you act out.

Its about allowing both good/bad unconditionally, then you get Love/Bliss. This does not mean go kill someone, it means understand both.

However, with action, its important to be actively good, simply because then you draw "good" back towards yourself.

To me, being a good person means you're trying to do something positive as a human being. It's not a perfect world out there and you can lose your cool sometimes/most of the time.

My philosophy is you can't undo what's been done or what happened let alone change the past (although most of the time we wish we could). Just accept what is, don't get stuck in the past, and then try to do something positive (if not for the other party, at least for yourself) to be better next time.

Do you feel you are a good person?
Mostly yes, but not always.

Do you think you can be a bit nicer to other people or do you feel there's no point in trying to be nice since they'll just end up accepting your kindness and eventually ignoring you?
Being nicer to other people often makes them nicer to you in return indeed.

Any tips on how to be a better person?
I think Oprah is always talking about it.. I never visit her site, but I do receive the newsletter.. which I rarely open, but I read the titles. The titles of the Oprah newsletter are quick reminders of being a better person.
