Are You A Nerd, Geek or Dork?

Yeah, well, you know, there can be too much of the good things, so perhaps a little balance is in order ;)
well, the concept of only one soul mate or one complete person for everyone seems utterly and completely flawed to me. Aside from the fact that there are far to many aspects of the human soul to match them all completely, and there's always the possibility that a person's match may get hit by a bus before the two ever met... game over, no point to living if that's true

Growing up, our common definition for a dork was someone who sits in the bathtub farting and snaps at the bubbles. ;)

but i don't sit in a bathtub farting and snapping the bubbles.

i'm a geek. not a dork. :square:

I think I out-nerded everybody. :-P

GL: you've out-geeked everybody; can you tell me what your specialty is—your area of obsession? (Your scores intrigue me.)

comic books with an emphasis on dc comics, science fiction and godzilla.

now you know why i can't get a frakkin' date in the gay world. ;)

GL, I wouldn't count yourself out just yet. There are possibly many gay men who share your interests...

as spock was fond of saying 'there are always possibilities...'

but space is vast and infinite.

thus the odds are unlikely.

Joe Normal. But that was a painful process. 60 questions? Ugh. Must have been designed by a nerd instead of a geek.

im way too cool to take this test

Taking such a test would qualify one to be 100% nerd, geek, and dork.

Interesting....

Comic books with an emphasis on Marvel, Canadian, Horror and Godzilla. With a Major in Doctor who.

Sounds like one of us is from the Mirror Universe (from Star Trek) but which one of us is the Evil version? ;)

I think we'd hit it over really great. But Goderich and Texas are to far away for anything to happen! :(

i would say i have a minor in doctor who. my masters is in godzilla and my doctorate in batman. :square:

and i would have to say you're the evil one as you were brandishing the red lantern images only a little while ago. ;)

that's the problem with gay geeks, were all too far apart. :(

I love godzilla. Have some of the movies, I had the NES video game back in the day and I'd love to find that 6 foot tall blow up doll of Godzilla! I think we were in the same class for Batman. He's my favourite DC character with Green Latern coming up second.

Yeah...I was! But I'm trading mine in for a "Black" Ring when the time comes! ;)

Yeah....wish the doctor was here....he could look into time and see what would happen if we lived closer! ;) But alas. You never know...you might end up here someday or me down there! :D

I was at the comic book store yesterday, and I thought of you. It would have been cook if you were there with me, even if our taste is vastly different. (I'm a graphic novel geek, with some interest in manga.)

Yeah, this confirms what I've known all along: I'm completely socially inadequate.

This test was good for me to know the differences between those three. And I really do have a bit of each:

* I'm obsessed with doing well academically. It ruins my day when I don't;
* My circle of friends is extremely limited and I have a great difficulty meeting new people in real life;
* My deep interest in super-hero movies, video games and manga makes me only confortable around people who share those interests: other geeks, who are mostly straight (and none of my geek friends know I'm gay...)

not so quick! im 83 % Nerd, 26% Geek, 26% Dork (which makes me a pure nerd). we have to share.

no big surprise here. 'pure nerd' sounds good (although, 'cool, modern nerd' also doesnt sound too shabby)

although, i thought my x-men and buffy expertise would give me a higher geek score. yes, i enjoy those (and other) things more than i obsess over them, but still, a below average geek score? the average is geekier than i thought.

slightly below average dork score: sounds about right.

^ i have the basics covered in both exact and social sciences (did well at school, have decent general knowledge, am interested in current developments), but i study at an art-academy, which gives all those questions about studying and academic ambition a different spin. im basically a more-than-full-time artist/designer, which you pretty much have to be if youre planning on having a career in this field.

(ive only heard of macrame, im more of a knitter myself. but i also crochet and silkscreen, and know the basics of felting and weaving. plus, im trying to pick up pattern-making.)

somebody get a ruler! let the nerd-geek-dork-tastic bragging begin!

(just to be clear, my 'erotic art' ive been going on about lately is just a hobby and completely divorced from my main work)

At least I mostly self identify correctly huh?

:-)

I take that approach with cooking. Some of Escoffier's recipes take a full week to make.

Pure heaven.

youre hired.

(funny you mention it, i just discovered ravelry not too long ago. i havent fully explored it yet, but it seems to be mainly directed at hand-knitters. i use machines, i have no patience for hand-knitting.)
