Are you afraid of growing old ?
Do you ever give it a thought?
Do you look forward to it?
Does the thought of you being a 50yr old e.g. give you the shivers, or do you say “Bring it on!”

(Oh, and this is not only aimed at the young’uns, but also at us “older” JUBbbers! The “50yr old” is just a number!)

I for one am not afraid to grow old. Every stage in life has something to offer, and by exiting one stage you maybe loose something, but by entering the next stage you gain something else.
I’d say “Bring it on!” :gogirl:

Not afraid of it at all. I'm not looking forward to more aches and pains, or to dying, but I'm looking forward to learning more, getting more comfortable with myself, and enjoying life more.

yes, and associated with it have been the thoughts of death.:help:

Why should aging scare me?

It is inevitable, and it comes long before you intend.

I am having my seventy-fifth birthday
next week and I have enjoyed each year.

The only variable is in how you accept the inevitable.
The scary thing is that I might fill the years without feeling the joy of living.

I'm not afraid of getting older. I'll just let it happen. I still play like a kid and until I stop that, I will always feel young.

Why be fearful? You may get there, you might not. People die at different ages for the most unexpected reasons. I know a young guy who died of brain tumours when he was only 19. He was diagnosed several days before his death after complaining about headaches. It was the saddest thing I've ever heard, since he could have had such a wonderful life ahead of him.

Don't regret getting old. But regret the things you wished you wanted to do before your time is up.

I am under the impression that older people recieve more respect and are less criticised..

Judging by the number of 'Old Guys! EWWWWWW!' threads, I would say your impressions are mistaken.

plus they all fought in the war.

'All'?

What war are you talking about? I've never even been in Cadets or the Armed Forces let alone fought in a war.

I'm not afraid of growing old. It's going to happen anyway so why fear it. That's life. With so many young people dying, I savor each day. Like anyone else, I don't look forward to the physical issues that sometimes develop with age, so I take care of myself now. Life is an exciting adventure. As each decade passes, it becomes more and more interesting.

I'm 19 but dating someone who's 47 - age doesn't matter to me. I accepted the concept of death at a pretty early age, especially with my older cousin dying at my age, so age ain't nothin'. People who are scared about being/getting old are just taking it for granted. You're lucky you get to live to be old! I'm really interested to see how my attraction niche will change - will I start liking younger guys as I get older, or will my fire always be for older guys?

sometimes i think about being really old, like close to death old and it worried me, but what can i do about that? absolutely nothing so it's stupid to dwell. i just hope i get to live to that age!

I'm not afraid of being old, I'm just afraid of dying.

I like living....I don't want it to end.

i'm not afraid of growing old. that is a natural part of life. sure i sometimes fret when i see a gray hair crop up but what can one do? you just deal...

if anything i'm afraid of dying old and alone. that's what worries me.

Fear not and live your life in anticipation of it ending this very day.

There is no entitlement to old age.

There are no guarantees to a full life, after our conception.

Fear prevents us from enjoying all that life has on offer.

Premature death so often arises out of our free choice to fear living in celebration of our life.

Everyone should be afraid of growing old. With no marriage/kids, you're going to be one lonely old man.

Sorry but I'm already past 50, try 61!!

Well that is the old college spirit, if you are not shit upon, then shit upon someone else. I am 67 and the best is still to come for all of you, and if you do not understand or believe that, then you will probably not make the journey.

I look forward to getting older and I enjoy being an older JUBBER now. Don't get me wrong, the college years were extremely fun but I'd never repeat them!

For me, with age comes wisdom and I've definitely learned a lot over the years. I finally have an adult job w/ an adult paycheck and my own insurance (this was cool to me-I'm not from a wealthy family.) Now I get to make my own mark on the world. I also have a better personality now and am more aware of those around me instead of being a self-centered, arrogant kid.

Ideally, I'd love to be in my 40's. At that point, my loans would be paid off and I'd have the job thing completely down. Life just gets better and better!

Oh, and propoolplayer, traditionally, children just stick their parents in the nursing home. I can live w/o that benefit.

I'm almost 21.

GOD, I'm so FUCKING old!!!

:p
