i'm not afraid of growing old. that is a natural part of life. sure i sometimes fret when i see a gray hair crop up but what can one do? you just deal...

if anything i'm afraid of dying old and alone. that's what worries me.

Yup same here. Growing old really doesn't bother me but the thought of all those years alone does. :(

None the less...my answer is... bring it on you bastard! :grrr:

Are you afraid of growing old ?
-consdering the alternative to growing older is being dead, no, I'm not affraid of it.

Do you ever give it a thought?
- yes, when I turned 40, I noticed that people treat me differently. And it is a strange feeling accepting that I'm probably in my later middle age years.

Do you look forward to it?
- not at the moment....still missing my best friend...he has been gone more than 2 1/2 years. If he was around, I would be looking forward to it. He made life so much fun and loved to do the same things that I love to do.

^Says the kid. Yeah, you'll out grow that eventually. W/ age comes wisdom!

Why on earth would you knock yourself off at 60? At that time, the senior citizen discounts will finally be kicking in!

I guess I was afraid of growing old...before I grew old. No point in fearing it anymore, really.

It's like this: I'm not afraid of George Bush being President. He is. That's bad. But afraid? Nah.

I AM afraid he'll declare himself President For Life or something. That's scary.

By the same token, I'm afraid the aging changes I've already noticed will progress to the point where I can't work out, or can't make it up stairs, or can't walk, or can't stand long enough to cook. That would suck.

Im killing myself before i reach 60
How about before you reach 22? No point in waiting.

Seriously, growing old will not happen to you. It will happen to someone who used to be you, but who had decades longer to prepare for it.

Native American Proverb: "One should not fear growing old. It is a privilege denied to many."

i don't fear aging or dying ... i just hope it's not too painful crossing over....and we ALL have to do it....so i don't fear it...that would make no sense....your life would be a mess....in fear all the time

i just don't want to waste any of the time i have....i've never been so excited about being alive as i am now.....and i have LOTS to accomplish before i die...

but if i were to die today....i would die a happy man...and with a clear conscience...and a good name....and loved and remembered by many

and loved and welcomed back with my Creator to spend eternity in bliss and nirvana....amen

What makes you think I wasn't catching on?

Well, I said, "w/ age comes wisdom." Your reply was, "w/ age comes memory loss." Since you're older than me, I naturally assumed that you were struggling w/ the ole memory. ;)

Come on Ian. Isn't life much better in your 40's than it was in your teens and early 20's? You know, not making the same dumb mistakes over and over again, having a real career, learning to accept yourself, making better decisions, etc.

^Actually, a lot of things go over my head. Sad to say.
