  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Are you american and did you ever shop at ALDI?

I'm American (Alabama) and there's an ALDI about 30 minutes from where I live. While on a catering job in the area where it is, I was curious about whether or not it had unsweetened tea, because we (Dad and I) forgot to pack a gallon. The next catering we had in the area, we again forgot to pack some unsweetened tea (both times unintentionally), and, come to find out, the ALDI store didn't have any tea. Otherwise, it was a nice place.

aldis is my shit

i can get a whole bunch of stuff for 100 dollars
definetly a great place to shop for bargains

shopping there is something of a necessity for me. the only other option is Tops and their RIDICULOUS prices. have to admit, i was surprised at the quality of the majority of Aldi's merchandise considering their low pricing.

what's crazy, is that on average i spend an average of around $60 at Aldi's, but getting the same exact order at Tops would run me about 200. wouldn't even bother with Tops at all anymore, but Aldi's doesn't sell potroasts...or the REAL Kool-Aid.

I go to Aldi maybe every other week. They have cheaper prices on vegetables than anyone else, particularly cauliflower. I also buy their bagels, cooking spray, cereal, and seafood. I've heard their meat is good quality, but I haven't bought it there. Our Aldi is clean and friendly. The only hassle is having to remember to bring your own bags.

Aldi's is definitely not a place you go if you want to run in and grab a few items. I've been to numerous locations, numerous times, and there are never enough cashiers for the number of people in line. Only once did I luck into a short wait. You have to plan your trip and be ready to stand in line for some time. That even stood true back home in a much small community than St. Louis.

that IS a bitch, but over here it's even worse at Tops. with all the business that they still do there, it's rare for them to have more than 3 lines open at a time.

You are correct. At Tops, it takes five minutes to get your items, and 15 minutes to check out!

At least Aldi (when I've been there anyway) does have all their lanes open, although you may have to wait, when there are a lot of people in the store...

But nobody beats Wegmans. They are constantly monitoring the check out traffic, and opening more lanes as needed.

I had never heard of ALDI and yet there are about 10 ALDI stores within 30 minutes of where I live. I am quite surprised.

There are 5 different grocery chains in my city (a shoutout here to Harris Teeter) so it is unlikely that I will shop at ALDI.
