  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are you fit for service?

I tried while in high school. I was turned down. I tried again after high school and as soon as I told them my name they said no. I think they remembered my name, it is odd. I was turned down for really bad asthma.

These days I have so many things on that list it is not worth it to me to go thru it and post them all. I am falling apart.

I'm too old.

But thanks for the chance to state: I stand with America"s transgender military personnel. Support ALL our troops.

I narrowly escaped the draft and Vietnam with a higher draft number. But they wouldn't have taken me anyway because I'm gay. Too old now.

Interesting isn't it, that long list of conditions does not mention bone spurs.

If my age wasn't already keeping me out, I have few vision problems that might.

I found it interesting that polydactyly was on the list with no qualifiers about limited function, but I suppose they'd need to fit into gloves and such things.

I'm a fat fuck, and I'm on meds. So no.

At 18 I was fine and would have been drafted had my number came up.

I did pass the military physical and joined the Air Force before they could draft me into the Army during the Vietnam War. Now I have almost complete loss of hearing in my left ear and had Meniere's Syndrome for years, and sometimes have irritable bowel syndrome. Of course my age would also disqualify me.

not really fit mentally due to lack of interest---although military guys are hot even when they aren't---I'm pretty perfect except for flat feet lol---not sure if that is worst then bone spurs.

Been there done that.

At the moment the Army, in particular, are having trouble recruiting new personnel.

When I was in boot camp there was a guy from texas that had rotten teeth. He was in dental everyday and had to go back for a do over of boot camp.

I want to do the short arm inspection.

That's interesting. My IBS would disqualify me. Side note: I turned 18 when Jimmy Carter was president and am one the few people who didn't have to register with selective service. There was a 3 to 4 year period when we didn't have to do it.

I would most likely get our with plantar fasciaitis.

I may not be fit to serve in the militia,

but I am certainly willing to service the militia!

Bring those horny soldiers, sailors, air men and marines to me!

I'll clean their pipes! :D

A quick scan of the list and I came up with 4 things this could disqualify me. But reading the above comments I came up with 3 more. Back during the draft, I wonder how you would prove you are gay? I thought it was difficult to get out of being drafted back then. I had flat feet back when I was 18 when i registered, but didn't even realize that might disqualify me...I was gay to but wasn't out.

Incredibly long list. Looks as if it was drawn up to specifically provide reasons for clever young men to avoid the draft.
