I don't work for Fratpad.

If I'm wrong about vegans (which I don't think I am), maybe you can explain where you disagree with me instead of acting like a tosser and some spoiled brat?

ps... being a vegan has made you kinda cranky. I didn't call anyone names either. Just said a couple people looked like twits. Although I did get called an asshole.

But I'm not going to argue that. Cuz he's right. I am. And proud of it. But I don't work for Fratpad and I don't hold a camera at anyone.
Well, if im not mistaken, you used to work for Fratpad. And if you don't work for them anymore, then THANK FUCKING GOD! Whether you left or they fired you, somebody made the right choice.

and yes, you are extremely wrong about veganism. I could break it down for you to the tee if I wanted, but is that really going to get through to your big head?

Heres something simple for you think about: humans are omnivores. Omnivores aren't strictly "meat eaters". Omnivore simply means that we can survive off of anything. Meat, fish, plants, etc. There is WAY more than enough nutrition in a plant based diet for a vegan to be healthier than your average meat eater**. Plus, when a human consumes protein in "meat" form, the body must first breakdown and digest all of that fat and tissue surrounding the protein before it can get actually absorb the protein. When a vegan consumes broccoli, beans, or lentils (excellent source of protein BTW), there is no outer layer that the stomach must breakdown before it can get the nutrition. Therefore, the protein is absorbed much quicker and easier, giving a vegan a higher amount of energy and feeling recharged after a meal. Unlike how you probably feel after eating a huge steak dinner...groggy, full, and exhausted. So you're little made up story about seeing vegans out of breath while climbing stairs was just blown out of the water. Either that, or they're simply out of shape. Being vegan doesn't make you an Olympic athlete or exercise your respiratory system in anyway, so don't blame it on the diet, buddy. Everybody needs to exercise to stay in shape regardless of diet, come on now. I figured even YOU would know that.

**please don't argue with me on this. I am right and you are wrong. However, I anticipate you getting your panties in a crunch over it, which is why I will supply you with this info and some links:
A vegan diet can be considerably healthier than the traditional American diet.

In its 1996 position paper on vegetarian diets, the American Dietetic Association reported that vegan and vegetarian diets can significantly reduce one's risk of contracting heart disease, colon and lung cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, kidney disease, hypertension, obesity, and a number of other debilitating conditions. Cows' milk contains ideal amounts of fat and protein for young calves, but far too much for humans. And eggs are higher in cholesterol than any other food, making them a leading contributor to cardiovascular disease.

...and I actually don't care to find anymore info for you.

Point being, that that was just a small tid bit of how the vegan diet is NOT unhealthy, which was your initial, uneducated, stereotypical, cocky claim. [-X

The lollipop IS the stick, ya goob!

Sheesh... Are you sure you work in the gay porn industry?

He meant the stick to hold the candy so you can suck, lick... I'll stop there... without getting your fingers/hands/whatever sticky.

There is nothing in that statement that couldn't have been said without some hint of perversion. :(

By the way... I don't think either one of you has actually commented on the topic of the thread.

Can we get back to that? Nobody cares about your little vendettas.
Well now, lets see. What was my very first post in this thread?
Oh boy, lectures from Jasun on how to be healthy!

Well, I dont want to get in the way of that .... so I'll post and run.

I'm dairy free, because I have a major reaction to dairy protein. This is not a lactose intolerance.

I learnt to explain this in multiple languages for my trip around europe.

Commercial plug time: Jacketman and I are working on a website to provide cards in multiple languages to assist you in explaining to restaurant/cafe staff what your food needs are. Be that a food allergy or vegetarian.

How many here would use such a card?

Oh look. I did address the thread topic. Jasun 0 3stripes 1

And we could just go on from there, but I dont need to because I know Jasun will go on and on and on. Witness his claim to being stalked. Witness his reaction to my mentioning his post count (is it supposed to be a secret or something?).

Talk about bizarre neurotic and plain pathetic.

**wars** *insert lightsaber sounds here*

As for me, I can't eat red meats because certain enzymes in them set off my psoriasis, or some such thing. All I know for sure is if I eat red meat, my psoriasis comes back. :(

*sigh*

I dunno.

It seems like I've spent most of my adult life on one diet or another. For two years I was a remarkably strict vegan. NO meat, no dairy, *nothing*. It worked for quite a while, and I did 'tone up' and feel pretty good, in a 'dim, no energy' sort of way.

Then, one day I went to a BBQ with some friends, got high as a dog and saw the bacon cheeseburgers on the grill, and that was the end of that. Did I feel remorseful and awful after I ate ? Hell, no. I felt more alive than I had in two years.

Then came the 'no simple carbo' phase. Potatoes ? White Pasta ? Sugar ? Good God no ! Again, I looked good, but felt like shit.

In the end, I've arrived at a simple conclusion.

It's shocking. Hang on, here it is:

EAT RIGHT AND EXERCISE ! Lean meats, balanced carbs and veggies, NO high fructose, limited alcohol, and you'll be just fine.

Vegan diet is just like any other diet. If you don't eat balanced meals, then your not doing it correctly and that can lead to low energy levels, fatigue, etc. Vegan diets are usually a lot easier to balance simply because our food selection is limited....by a lot. So include a little of everything and your set! Lots of fruits, raw vegetables, legumes, beans, whole grains, etc. That is all you need, but if you were simply living off of pasta and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, then of course your gonna be tired. Common sense right there.

It's funny that my friends at my college try to tell me i'm at risk of malnutrition because i'm vegan, when in reality i am so much healthier then any of them. I go to the farmers market every thursday and buy cheap cheap fruits and fresh veggies to cook with. When I asked my friends what they had for dinner during the past week, all they could tell me was: ramen soup, microwave pizzas, grilled cheese, and hot pockets. Where's the nutrition in that? HAHAHA. Sorry guys, but your way more malnutritioned then I could ever be...

your average omnivore bachelor is probably the same way. Just because you eat meat doesn't make you instantly healthier than a vegan.:gogirl: Our diet is based around the biggest nutritional powerhouses on the planet. Even if I snack on trailmix with dried fruit in it, thats still far better than your flaming hot cheetos or slim jims.

BUMP because I am still waiting to hear Jasuns smart little response back to me.

Jasun's employed. :)

It's easier to just enjoy being right. Or so I've been told.

I'm on a bodybuilding diet for ripping, which includes basically 6 meals of more or less the same every day. I have chicken breast and egg whites for protein and brown rice and oatmeal for carbohydrates. The rice is brown because it has a lower GI and the lower insulin level helps in shedding bodyfat. I also eat broccoli, tomatoe, asparagus and romain lettuced with no more than 1 tea spoon extra virgin olive oil - for essential fatty acids and for fiber to aid digestion of all that protein. Eating lots of protein is important for three reasons: it further lowers insulin level by slowing digestion of carbohydrates and metabolising protein is calorically very expensive, meaning that for every gram of protein you eat you will use 1.5 calory to metabolise it - which is the reason why you will die on an all-protein diet even if you eat enough protein calories to meet your daily caloric ingestion. This process, called gluconeogenesis is why people lose so much fat on high protein diets. The third reason is that eating lots of protein helps you maintain muscle mass and muscle is what burns the most calories in the body. Curetnly, my bodyfat is at 8% and dropping.

This diet is not ideal for health, though. Protein creates several toxic by-products from metabolisation like uric acid and ammonia, which is very bad for health. The ideal diet for Humans is a raw vegetarian diet where fruits and vegetables compose the bulk of the diet and small amounts of nuts and seeds are eaten to complement.

It is utterly pointless to be a vegetarian and eat candy and pizza because the by products of the metabolisation of refined sugar and flour are even worse than those of meat, and refined sugar and flour fuck up your endocrine system as well as sap vitamins and minerals from your body to be processed and metablised. It is also utterly pointless to be a vegetarian if you cook your foods, because the heat both destroys most of the beneficial phytochemicals and vitamins/minerals from vegetables and also changes the chemical composition of the plant material into toxic poisons that can even cause cancer. It is comendable those who become vegetarians for ethical reasons, but becoming a vegetarian for health reasons while eating processed foods is a complete waste of time. Again, refined sugar and flour and the chemical additives and colorings in processed foods are even worse for your health than meat.

OH, sorry. I stopped paying attention to you a page or so back.

But ok.. if you must... yes.. it's possible to be healthy and be a vegan at the same time.

I've never seen it done outside of an artist rendering in a text book, but I've also been told that there are Madonna fans who have sex with women so I guess anything is possible.

If you really want to know about my recent job change (I now work for Jake Cruise and CockSureMen.com), maybe you can read a few of my other posts. Nothing dramatic, I'm afraid, I just decided I was ready to move on to something different.

I figured it would be kinda obvious what with the Jake Cruise banner in my signature, new account and my thread about it in Hot Topics (which I guess you missed... I can forward you a link to it if you'd like).

Why would you have asked me to prove you wrong and then "stop paying attention"? You're a lot more immature than I thought. However, I do not believe you stopped paying attention to me. I'm sure you read my posts and chose to ignore them because you couldn't defend yourself. You've probably never witnessed a healthy "vegan" because you didn't know they were vegan. LA is swarming with them, we don't all have tattoos on our head stating so. We're normal human beings. You, my friend, are just being stubborn. Stop with the excuses.

and regarding the thread in hot topics and your little banner in your sig, I never noticed. I do not like you and I have not liked you for years. When I come to JUB, I do not research any changes in your employment because I could careless. The only reason I am talking to you now is because you opened your big mouth in a topic which you have absolutely no education in and you were basically speaking out of your anus. You do this a lot, but I actually had an interest in this thread and you just wanted to look like the know it all.

...but you're not.

that is all. Move along now.

Have you ever heard of Raw Foodist? Those guys are insane. They only eat raw veggies and fruits. It is completely healthy and doable, but its not something that interests me. ANyways, theres a documentary about it called Raw for 30 Days (http://www.rawfor30days.com/) and this diet is so healthy and good for you that it literally reverses diabetes and diseases that doctors claim is "irreversible". Check out the trailer if you have a second:

a lot of vegans, like myself, will go on week long body cleansing where we go raw for a week, but i don't know if I could live my entire life this way haha. But its interesting stuff dude. Check it out if you can.

the raw food diet is getting lots of press these days.

Yeah.

I kind of agree with that train of thought. But really, it just another way of saying 'eat right'.

I don't know what sort of madness gripped our country back in the 50's.
Boil the hell out of everything, saute every meat in butter, make casseroles out of salty Campbells soup.

*yikes*

There's lots of different approaches to diets, but I think in the end it's maybe just as easy as eating food the way it grows or is raised.

Simple food, simple life.

It's easy if you want it to be.

i just love to hear what people have to say regarding food.

Me too. Especially when people go on and on about the evils of sugar, carbs, and fast food; yet, they engage in other bad for you behaviors such as smoking, pill popping, or hard core drinking.

Personally, I'm on the "I'll eat whatever I want" diet. This is a neat thread. I've certainly learned a lot about vegans and such. I think I'll stick to my own diet though. :D

Because I didn't really care. I was just being Jasun. Since you've been reading my posts for years you should know when I'm pressing buttons for my own entertainment.

Girl friend, you really need a better hobby (to be fair, I probably do too). Actually liking or disliking people you have never met and will never meet based on silly things they post to a forum is pathetic.

It's kinda sad you haven't liked me "for years" and I only noticed you yesterday.

And I'll have forgotten about you by tomorrow.

Sorry.

So let me ge this straight...you are a 40 year-old guy who gets kicks and improved self-esteemed by pushing people on an internet message board. You truly are very arrogant for someone so contemptible.

Have you ever heard of Raw Foodist?

You need to understand what "raw" really means. Many people think it refers only to not cooking your food, which is not true. "Raw" means "unchaged by man" and it applies to any alteration done to food in any way. These include cooking, refining, coloring, processing, etc. Being a vegetarian who eats cooked vegetables is not only not good for you, but actually bad because several compounds in vegetables change to toxic due to the heat, and all the vitmains&minerals are destroyed. Likewise, being a vegetarian who gorges on ice cream and piza is also pointless because refined sugar and flour are even worse than meat. Not eating meat for ethical reasons is comendable, but you will actually have worse health than a meat eater who avoids processed foods and eats lots of vegetables if you are the kind of vegetarian who eats like a normal American except for the meat.
