  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are you ripped?

It's been a while since I had that zero fat body. For the last year, I've been trying to get back to it. But what the heck, don't really care that much.

I'm more torn than ripped, but I'm staying.

LOL
I am more ripped off than ripped

I really couldn't be bothered putting in the hard work to achieve it
My thoughts on people who look like this is that they are a) obsessed/addicted or b) ill

A friend who was a body builder type once told me that these gym bunny types are so obsessed with their bodies that they have no room in their lives for anything/anyone else

NO ONE has "zero percent" body fat, anyway. That would be pretty unhealthy to have NO body fat, since fat is a requirement for certain bodily functions to operate healthily. Nor does it, contrary to people's fantasies, even LOOK GOOD. The lowest "healthy" body fat is around 4% and even that's not so great. It's a bit gaunt looking if you're older, but looks okay on 18 year old gymnasts (men), but not the same on women.
7% looks pretty great on a person, but no lower.

I haven't noticed that to be necessarily true, but I do observe that it comes at a price. To get to that degree of definition and physique, it usually takes a great deal of dedicated attention and time and diet.

A couple of friends I have known have done it, but not close friends. One is a JUB member.

What I would be cautious of is the difficulty that age brings. When one's identity is so bound up in physique, and time assails the body, it is often very difficult to deal with self image and the change in self esteem when one no longer IS the alpha male physically.

And God knows the little red sports car manufacturers and Hummer dealers know this all too well.

Haha, I was exaggerating. Back in my teens and first half of 20s, I was thin so the little muscle I had looked pretty big. I was 5'8 at 120-130 lb. Then something happened and my weight went up to 190 or so. I'm currently at 170 and still working my way downward. My goal is work my way down to 160-something the healthy way. Not starving myself. Hitting the gym 4-5 times a week. Healthy eating.

Anyway, here enjoy my bicep :rotflmao:

Over here in the midwest, we call them gym rats.

I used to go to xsport. Nowadays I go to anytime fitness. Back at xsport, there used to be a few guys there that no matter what day or time I went there these guys seemed to always be there. I always wondered how the hell they got the time to be there seemingly all the time like that.

This is a popular UK TV presenter, ex heroin addict and self confessed obsessive
I think she looks very ill

Do you ever have anything positive to say?

I don't know what percent Ballcaphair has, but it's obviously very low and very awesome.

Unfortunately, no, I am overweight. Aristomaniac if you were 5'8" and 120 to 130lbs, wow. At about 30 years old I was back in college and wanted to fit in. I am 5'7" and went down to 148 lbs. and had a 28"-29" waist. It looked good except I didn't have much muscle. Now I am at about 174 lbs. and have a 40" waist and it doesn't look good, but I am not motivated to do too much about it. I do try to walk frequently so I don't gain any more.

^^ I was a scrawny little nerd. Remember that this was high school, so I was probably shorter than now.

Also, we are about the same weight right now and almost the same height. My waist is currently at 33. How is yours at 40?
