  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are you sensitive or manly?

So you are asking me to label myself as either an idiot or an imbecile..?

Damn Harke you look like... cute... in your new weemee

I'm sensitive, feminine and manly in ways too. My boyfriend played sports and I didn't.

Men and young boys that are too sensitive are perceived to be weak, less the male and mainly gay. I think that perception is widely accepted in our society. Men are expected to be strong emotionally and physically. Crying and complaining (bitching) are a big no no. I'm sure everybody has heard the phrase "don't cry be a man". I know that's bullshit but that's the way it is. I was definitely raised that way. Now as an adult I internalize everything that would make me appear too sensitive/weak but I think most adults do that male or female.

I don't think you have to be one or the other. You can be a manly man yet still be sensitive and caring to others.

Yep, I'm definitely sensitive but am ferocious towards injustice. I do feel that being too sensitive is as bad as not being sensitive enough as it can bring agony to the individual and frustration to those around him. A good balance is necessary.
