  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are you the neighborhood token gay?

We only see it now in Canada because of Trumpism slopping its way across the border.

And we aren't really token anything although we are about the only homo couple outhere in the country.
The only gay in the wilderness? Daffyd is that you? What takes you so far from Llanddewi Brefi?

We're well in the suburbs, and the only gays within sight. There is a very single woman across the street with a pretty lesbionic vibe but we've never officially come out to each other or anything.

When we first moved in I am pretty sure the neighbours thought we were setting up a grow op or something. After a couple of weeks I think the lightbulb flickered to life.

"HERB! I'VE GOT IT! There're not drug dealers! They're homosexuals! Oh I'm so relieved! I've been sick with worry all week. I've been watching through the venetian blinds....two men, showing up at odd hours, it looks like they're moving in but no sign of a wife or a child, so of course I wondered what it could possibly mean for the neighbourhood! I was sure they were going to be some sort of Hell's Angels or hippies or pot heads or something like on Miami Vice. Or no... what's the one they have now? I watched it on the news. Crack they call it? Cracked? Snap Crackle Pop? I don't know. But they're just homosexuals I'm sure of it! They'll probably plant flowers! Oh thank goodness. You don't mind, do you Herb? OH I have to phone Helen!!"

Now, we will occasionally see a couple where if you're observant you might also realize they aren't Hell's Angels, but its the sort of neighbourhood where people tend to keep to their lives. I spend far more time with people who happen to live on the other side of the city.

I live in a neighborhood that has lots of gays, Boston Massachusetts. I have lived in some of the suburbs outside of Boston and I have always been open and out. Saying that, I know this part of the country is safe for being open and out, other parts of the country and world, not so much.

we live in a small hoa community in Florida. There are 32 homes, when we moved in it was the talk of the neighborhood and we got a very warm welcome from everyone. We have a small group of nabes we happy hour with occasionally. It's all very pleasant in spite of the red leanings of Florida.

A guy I was seeing for a short while lived in a block of 16 flats, we were on the 3rd floor. He had not been living there long and I were the first BF he had bought home and probable the only gays in the block. There were lots of comments about our relationship which our old lady neighbour relayed to us.
