Ok i've seen a few posts in the tech forum about people having difficulties with IE7. Then today at work i heard 2 people talking about how they can't access their bank's web sites anymore. So far everyone i've heard from was bitching because they couldn't uninstall IE7 and go back to 6. So my question to you folks is are you using it and if so are you having trouble with it?

I made the poll public and multiple choice if ya want it.

Well my case was I had it it wasn't good, so I went back to IE 6

The first time i downloaded it, it caused my system to "forget" it had sound; had to restore the system to the previous day to restore sound. I downloaded it yesterday and things have worked fine...

mikey

it doesnt like to load JUb pages that have multiple images

it crashes occasionally as well

i wish i had never upgraded to it

Well, I installed it and I had several problems. Then I found that I couldn't uninstall it. But I use Firefox, so I said WTF, it really doesn't matter. Then I found that the HP Director program for my HP scanner no longer worked. After uninstalling and reinstalling HP software several times, I found that the work-around was to hit alt-space to cause HP Director to load. In summary, I hate IE7. I would never use it unless I had to.

Before you install it, remember that IE is part of the Windows operating system. Some software (such as the HP Director) will not work with it. I recommend not installing it. Use Firefox instead.

I upgraded to IE7, but never use it, I use Firefox. I never used IE6 since I switched to FF, and with the fugly new interface that drives my OCD insane, IE7 will never be used except for Windows Update.

I use Firefox and am still on IE 6. I do not trust new Microsoft products. I always wait a while and let other people use it before I dare download whatever piece of crap they're making.

Only exception to that rule was WMP11 and that proved to be a good choice :)

I downloaded IE7 ..... seems to work OK but I don't like the look of it all that much. I mostly use Avant, FF or Opera, depending on my mood at the time. I'm on Avant browser as I type this.

I installed it, didn't like it so uninstalled it. It wasn't IE7 itself that bothered me as I always use Firefox; it was the way it messed up Windows Explorer such as it asking more annoying questions etc.

I dunno why you guys can't uninstall it. It's right there in "Add/Remove Programs" as "Windows Internet Explorer". Perhaps you are looking for "Internet Explorer" or "Microsoft Internet Explorer" in the Add/Remove list?

< is on linux, so no.

(I do have IE6 installed under WINE, so I can test how it renders HTML and stuff. But I never use it to look at anything remote.

And the download page for IE7 checks for WINE when you go to it, so I won't be upgrading)

Got it from the MS updates page a couple of weeks ago, largely because the page promised it could be uninstalled.

The only problem, annoyance really, is that I'm still deleting all the MS links and other crap that it has put everywhere. I think I've got Windows messenger back again - that's gotta go.

But I haven't opened the bloody thing so I don't know what it looks like. It just does my updates - Fistfocks and Opera do the real stuff.

I've tried IE7. It seems ok. But since it's almost an exact replica of Firefox, I see no reason to switch. So I'm sticking with Firefox, the original browser done right.

IE 7 is working perfectly fine for me, but I only use it when Firefox acts like a bitch (Crashing)
