But it got me to thinking, who will take over as supreme queen, omnipotent [and omnipresent] overlord and goddess of JUB after me? Obviously I'm never going to die, but if I ever get bored and leave someone needs to take over the queendom.

ADD: I'm seriously not trying to start anything, but I went to google to find an 'African queen' animated gif and the entire first few rows are Katharine Hepburn. :?

Anyway, obviously none can come close to my magnificence, my esteem, my stunning beauty and all-encompassing grace, but I should appoint one of the girls just in case. I will be considering candidates over the coming weeks so stay on your P's and Q's and it just might be YOU.

Not until the turn of the century did I seriously confront the cost of longevity, it's sort of the flip side of your post idea.

Maybe thoughts of "who will take your place" occur with the passing of great talent, like Aretha.

And just like you, Aretha will never really leave us - to love and be loved, always.

Because it's British, which is curious since it is also flagged using the British spell check. My guess is that it simply did not make it into the dictionaries, much like many plural words which are flagged.

They need to update their dictionary. They're also flagging conversate and bootylicious, although both previously not real words they've been added to modern dictionaries due to common usage.

If Beyonce wins a Grammy with an album in which she dragged the Grammys she wins the award for biggest balls. Are there no worthy heirs to my throne in-house? There's probably some child in my crazy hodgepodge of a county who is growing up with all the fabulousness they will ever need. The ultimate movie set in my county is "Silver Linings Playbook." Yes, we ARE like that. And now more multicultural.

Inheritance and succession are also about legacy if you have a body of work. If you think what you have done is important you need to set up its preservation and continuation. Not that it really matters to one personally when one is in the ground.
