Well the rules for issuing a stay are what they are.

Most suspect that's why the Supreme Court issued a stay in Kitchen.

A few observations I have:

-If "many" of the justices were out of state for the stay request, the plaintiffs should request the stay be lifted as soon as they all return.

-The court having different members won't really make a difference since they two new ones since the overturning of the adoption ban were appointed by the governor.

-It's quite possible for the court to put off ruling in our favor until after election day to avoid an possible outside influences.

And it's certainly worth making people suffer while they conceal their honor or lack thereof.
