The eyes can't hide sincerity. If it was there, you would have seen it in his eyes.

I really don't think he expected this backlash. He's probably got away with it in his tiny little corner of the world, but a Tweet puts it out there for the whole world to see and his 'little corner' suddenly becomes extremely large and filled with a whole lot of very angry people.

"I should have used different words."

(Translation: "I still think gays are disgusting and immoral, but I shouldn't have called them fags and queers. I should've called them homos instead.")

"I don't want anyone to commit suicide."

(Translation: "The bible says it's a sin to kill yourself -- just like sodomy. Of course the fags would be the first to pull the trigger.")

"I'm sure everyone in their life has made a stupid hateful comment at some point."

(Translation: "Please excuse my flimsy and shameful defense, but why am I getting so much shit for saying what everyone else in the world is thinking?")

"I give everyone a chance and I try to love everyone."

(Translation: "I try to be fair but sometimes I fail. Especially when it comes to fags.")

"I've had to send my wife and kids out of state for safety reasons."

(Translation: "Don't let my awkward pause be lost on you. Of course I want them dead.")

ANDERSON: "Are you going to use the words 'fag' and 'queer' in the future?"

CLINT: "I, uh... don't know. That's in the future."

(Translation: "Of course I'll use those words. Fags make me sick.")
 
There is no sincerity in his eyes... no sincerity in his voice. He's actually smirking.

The fact that he even ATTEMPTED to defend himself with that "everyone says hateful things from time to time" line proves that he isn't sorry at all. And chalking it all up to "poor choice of words?" Whining about how his family has been hurt by this more than anyone else?

I just finished watching the interview.

I'm not entirely convinced by his words.
As a gay man who has grown up around people exactly like him. I am comforted by the fact that he is a minority. A minority that is vocal when they believe they are safe to spew the hate they've been told they have.

I'm even more thankful that the isolation needed to foster his attitude is vanishing.

Some of the people at Fox speak out against gay bullying. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't hire this guy or approve of his FB comments at all.

Fox condemned him , and his words, along with all the Major Media outlets..FAIL!
Does anyone even watch Fox? I do, along with CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN..I haven't heard anyone on all of those Networks praising this guy. True, Fox leans to the Right, but at least they are a Network that employs Left leaning Columnists, and regurlarly has them on Opinion shows to give the side of the Left..A big number of Left-leaning Columnists appear on Fox, to give their side of the issues. And both sides are debated. Leaving me, the viewer to decide..Can that be said for other Network analysis? I'm not saying I'm a "shill" for Fox , but I don't often see the objectivity on other Network's programs.
 
Good job by AC, by grilling him, and making him squirm, which he obviously was doing! He's not sorry at all for what he said! Props to Cooper who called him out on that! "Are you sorry for the comments, or for getting caught?" My $$$ is on the latter..What a stupid prick!
 
He is not sorry for a single word he said on his facebook posts or he wouldn't have made them in the first place.
As for any calls he's gotten, boo hoo. When you cheer the suicides of people, that's going to happen. And if anyone thinks he's a Christian, one only has to look to where he said he would disown his kids if they came out to him.
You can't get much more "Christian" love than that.

Anderson did a decent job interviewing him tonight, wish he would have hit him a little harder, and the olive branch at the end "thanks for coming on the air tonight, lots of politicians we've been trying to get on the air won't come on..." Completely inappropriate.

Harvey Milk said, and I am misquoting badly, but something along the lines of "If every gay person came out, there would be no more discrimination towards gay people"

2010 version. "If every bully and hatemonger got to experience the kind of blow-back that Mr McCance did, perhaps there'd be no more bullying." Just saying.
